We stayed here for two nights in order to visit Ephesus. It was just the kind of hotel we were looking for - family-run, not too expensive, not too far from Ephesus. We got more than we demanded: lovely garden, swimming pool (not very big, but most refreshing) with a good bar beside it. Although the rooms were small, the air conditioning and tv worked very well. The staff was excellent and multi-lingual. We were greeted in the morning with either or both English and French. Wifi is available, and there is a computer always on in the lobby.

One very nice touch on day two was my towel wound into the shape of a heart with a fresh red rose in its centre.

There is no spa or fitness centre, but I think I had to check something to complete the form!

Room Tip: There is no lift/elevator so make sure you are not on the top floor if that's important.

Dear our valued Guest Emilie T,

We thank you very much for your stay with us and leaving gladly after two nights. As you mentioned we are very close to the Ephesus Ruins with only 3 km to the lower gate. Our staff always aims the best for our guests' comfort. We are pleased that we were able to meet your expectations. Hope to welcome you once again later in our hotel.

Best regards,

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Kalehan. After booking last minute, I wasn't sure if everything would run smoothly, however the staff were extremely quick and friendly to get back to us. The hotel transfers were also just as efficient. The hotel is set amongst a beautiful garden and I loved the tortoises outside. The breakfast was also great value and there were some gluten free options available also. The rooms themselves were large and nicely fit however the bathroom was a little dated. Having said this, we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay here and would definitely recommend to others.

Room Tip: Try to stay in the building at the back if possible.

Dear our valued Guest Patrick H,

We are indeed sad not to meet your expectations in our hotel. We would like to say that we renewed all the beddings and rooms recently and we have had a better look and view in all our rooms. As you may guess eveyone's look different to the things in world, so we can not change this. Even then we would like to see you in our hotel later.

We had a very welcome stay at the Kalehan Hotel. The service was excellent and the artifacts presented throughout the hotel are a wonderful collection of Turkish antiquities. Selcuk is a great city and the hotel easy walking distance from the city centre. We had a wonderful evening discovering the well tuned piano in the restaurant and then to be accompanied by the hotel manager on his clarinet! Selcuk a special place and the Kalehan a great retreat. Many thanks

Our party of 4 (2 couples) spent 2 nights at Kalehan around tours of the area landmarks. The pool and garden were lovely to come to and relax after hot days of walking around. The staff was gracious and welcoming, especially Mehmet, the head waiter. He kept us supplied with olive oil that he himself makes from his property, and told us stories of the area around. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though not recently updated. For the price, it is an excellent value, however. The restaurant is reasonably priced and delicious for lunch and dinner, we ate two meals therein. The location is perfect as well, on the edge of Selçuk, walking distance to shops and restaurants, 10 minute drive from Ephesus, 15 minute drive from the village of Şirince, but well removed from the bland and overpopulated tourist trap that is Kuşadası.

May 1 & 18, 2013 - We planned to stay in the hotel for one night but found it so pleasant and easy to access many of the popular sights that we stayed two nights. The staff was friendly and helpful, exceeding our expectations. This hotel is very comfortable; nice big rooms; service-oriented staff; beautiful gardens; turtles, cats and dogs all added to a pleasant stay. We would definitely come back again!
