What a charming hotel! The service staff is friendly and most helpful. The rooms and public areas are well decorated. The breakfast is absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and would love to return for another visit soon.

We have been to Kalehan Hotel in Selcuk, İzmir, in Fall. The town was warm and sunny, and the hotel was lovely. The rooms have an elegant rustic design and the whole hotel with its garden and architecture is very pleasing. The food is excellent too.

Overall, the visit was a very nice experience for us!

Our shuttle bus from Izmir airport passed the hotel on its way to Selcuk Otogar. After hearing our excited voice, the driver let us off soon after.
The check in was fast and easy, and we were assigned a room at back building. A staff member helped us with our luggage and led us through a lovely garden, and our room was on the first floor at the other side of the garden. The room was very spacious, with one double bed and a table, and a small sitting area; the bathroom is Ok size, it had a standing shower like a spaceship capsule, and one sink vanity. The room was very clean. Shower had good pressure, and it never ran out hot water no matter when we took shower. Since the hotel is on a major traffic road, so, ask a room at the back building if you prefer something quiet. Everything is very clean in this hotel, however, we did smell a hint of sewer at night. I still could not figure out where that came from. The breakfast was a blast, good quality and good varieties. The staff can't be more helpful. They hauled taxi for us to go to Ephesus early in the morning, we ended up being the first one entering Ephesus that day. :-).
The hotel is on the edge of town center, it is about 7 minute walking to Selcuk Otogar, where we took our bus to Pamukkale two days later, we also took dolmus to Sirince. It is about 5 minute walking to many restaurants and shopping.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel, we would not hesitate to stay there again if we ever visit Selcuk. And they gave some Turkish delight as parting gift when we checked out.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back building are quieter.

The bus driver dropped me off in front of this lovely garden entrance. My ride from Istanbul was long and my check in was short I was in a first floor room near the pool. The garden and plantings kept the noise down so I didn't even notice the children playing in the pool. The staff was considerate and professional. Although there were a lot of people from a tour I never felt a crowd. the spacious garden and dining area were large enough to accommodate us all. the food was very good and there is a wine selection from the local vineyards. it is close to the museum, park and market.

great hotel, good (but not great) rooms in the main building.
We had a bungalow in the garden with 1 queen, 2 twins (for the 2 kids) and the bungalow was great. Ask for it. Bed and sheets were the best of our trip in Turkey. The staff was really helpful. Found us a great guide for Ephesus. The food at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was great. Swimming pool is big enough and deep enough for kids to have a lot of fun. There are turtles in the garden. great stay.

Room Tip: big rooms in bungalows the garden (= small bungalow just for yourself) with 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds...

Hello everyone at the Kalehan: This is Gail & Joe Colantoni rm 304 we recently stayed at the hotel with Mary Tarinellis group. I just wanted to thank everyone there for making our 40th wedding anniversary trip wonderful. You are all very gracious and kind. I hope to come back in the future. The food was supurb and the wait staff so accomodating. Our girl that tended to our room was wonderful she always made sure we had a special touch to the decor. The front desk staff were so wonderful they always remembered us we didn't even have to ask for our key they knew which one it was. So thank you again for such a wonderful stay.

Most visitors seem to use this hotel for a two-night stay but, having been recommended it, we stayed for a week. It is fairly expensive and the front is adjacent to a main road, but it has a pleasant old-worldly feel with a large, attractive back garden and swimming pool. The breakfast is excellent, with variety of choice, and our room was spacious and comfortable, with nice bathroom. We had to use ear-plugs for the first couple of nights to blank out traffic noise and some early morning risers (guests!) but then got used to the scene. The staff were helpful and courteous. The hotel is a convenient base for the many nearby attractions: Ephesus, Pamucak etc.

Room Tip: Preferable to stay in the block at the back but this can still be noisy, so take your ear-plugs!
