This is the highlight of the site at Ephesus which so many people miss out.It costs extra but we're talking modest amounts for foreign visitors and it's unique.Buy the guide book to the painted houses as it gives full details and information about what you're looking at!We had the site to ourselves for the first half an hour before a few more small groups came with guides but they were through before we were. It's an experience not to be missed.

It’s worth the money, you get to feel the different life of upper and lower living of Rome.
Probably the few places you could actually feel you are in a actual Rome building. !

This is in Şirince. We loved this place it is happening and buzzing. It is old Greek town .beautiful rustic town with lots of cafe’s and shops . Please try to stay here . We made a mistake we realised after visiting this place . We stayed in Kuşadası which is like any other town.

The second ticket requested to buy is inside of the Ancient City of Efesus. It is interesting, but the ticket is too expensive. Due to the first ticket, some of the sum could be included in that, and the second ticket here, would be cheaper.. that should be a win win for the situation.. Now it is many who dont go into the Terrace houses special museum.. because of that.

You're in Ephesus! Get the extra ticket to the once lavish homes of the wealthy. The mosaics and paintings and details are exceptional. Tens of thousands of pieces spread out on scores of giant tables are being meticulously catalogued and put together like an impossible jig saw puzzle. As I've already recommended on other reviews of Ephesus, get a guide. It's well worth it to hear what all is going on in these amazing excavations, still very active today.

The frescoes and mosaics, still in place after centuries, are wonderfully restored. Be warned -- you must walk up many stairs.

Costs a bit extra for the ticket into the Terrace houses, but it is well worth it to see how wealthy Romans lived. The ceramic tiled floors are amazing, especially after all these centuries.

We've been in Greece for two weeks, doing Athens, the Islands, and Ephesus, by far the highlight. And the Terrace Houses are the crown jewel of Ephesus. Tour groups over ten are not allowed in, so avoid those. Get a private guide - it is well worth it.

Do NOT miss the Terrace Houses.

These are the latest additions to Ephesus, as in, the last discovered and are still a work in progress but well worth the extra fee....the amazing condition of the floors, paintings etc is incredibale....just wish we had longer than the allocated 20mins our guide gave us to view! Just be aware that there are quite a few stairs within the site and what goes up...must come down! Don't let it put you off, just take your time, if needed and you do get a break from the heat of the scorching sun, as these ruins, still being restored, are all under cover.

Spend the money to see this!
Indoor, glass floors and lots of steps. Fascinating paintings and tile work.
