“if you believe it might be worth it.”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

For anyone who believes this to be the revealed location of the Madonna, this is a special place of pilgrimage and an important site.
If, on the other hand (like me) you think the whole story to be a lot of tosh but an interesting place to visit anyway, you will be disappointed.Entance for 2 people and parking is TL.38 and for that you get a tea room and a small chapel in some pleasant grounds. There is also a spring (tap) by which you can make a wish by writing your desires on a piece of paper and tying it up alongside other myriad peces of toilet paper and napkins. The one highlight, was a wish for lots of money which was printed and laminated, so someone came prepared.
The drive up was pleasant.

“The most peaceful spot we visited”
Reviewed October 25, 2013

The legend exists that the Virgin Mary spent her final days here on this spot. There is a serene feeling here, but visit early in the day to beat most of the crowds. There is a place to light a candle and a prayer wall to write your personal prayers, so bring a pen and piece of paper. There is a gift shop with many tourist choices for just a few euro.

“Virgin Mary's House”
Reviewed October 25, 2013

We arrived in Kusadasi by Cruise Ship and went on a bus tour that included the Virgin Mary's House. When we arrived, there were many other tour groups so the line up was long to visit the house. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. A church service to the side of Virgin's Mary house was in session and we listened to the sermon while we waited. We were advised before entering that photos were not allowed. As soon as you get in you move quickly through as it is not a large home. It has been beautifully restored and was worth the visit. As we headed back towards the bus we passed a wall where people stuck prayers and messages on. It was an interesting place and was worth the visit.

“Peaceful, Humbling”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

A long winding drive to the top of a small mountain (tall hill) with a spectacular view from the top.

Not much to see, but worth the trip to the small building in a wooded area turned into a beautiful chapel. A place to sit down, relax and experience the peacefulness of the area.

“Great for the believers.”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

I grew up in a Catholic school, and we used to pray the rosary on the month of September, but now I am Agnostic, i have different faith now base on my life experience, but because weve learned about the Blessed Virgin Mary in highschool, its nice to see her history.m

I did enjoy this trip, it was blessed, and for some reason there was a cool breeze cos we visit in July.

If you are a catholic, you will love this place, but theres really nothing much to see. The souvenir shops arent bad either...but you can get them cheaper somewhere else.

Best to come here early morning like 8:30 to 9am. So theres no long queue.
