Owner description: This fine example of Seljukian architecture was purposely built with an asymmetrical style along with several Ottoman style elements, which are revealed in the turquoise and blue faience mosaics.

“Not one of the great mosques.”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

Having seen many mosques in many different countries this one was rather ordinary. If you are going to the Basilica of St. John then it's a short walk but not worth a special trip.

“14th Century Mosque”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Situated between Artemis Temple and Basilica of St-John, this mosque dating back to 14th century has been even used as a caravanserai in 19th century. It bears the simplistic Islamic architecture of the time. Especially its marble work is very impressive. The windows surrounding the courtyard are each different and very beautiful. The altar inside is a great chef d'oeuvre of marble carving. Only a small portion of the Iznik tiles used for decoration remained but they still are very beautiful. Though it may not be worth a special visit, as it's almost on the crossroads of many other archeological sites, it's best not to skip it once you're in the vicinity.

“nice, simple mosque”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

The inside of this old mosque has been renovated in recent years, the garden is beautiful and welcome after the busy site of Ephesus nearby. The inside is not particular beautiful, but has some distinctive features that make it worthwile for anyone interested in mosque architecture.

“Beautiful Exterior”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

The exterior of the Isa Bey Mosque is gorgeous and you can walk around a bit and see the different parts. The interior seems that it has been redone and the white walls are a disappointment.

“A bit disappointing”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

The courtyard is pretty, and so are the carpets. The inside is quite plain and not quite what I expected for a Mosque of its age. That being said, it's worth a visit as it is peaceful, and if you've never been to a mosque, it's worth the experience.
