What a fantastic site. There is so much to see and to learn from the Roman empire. There are entire marble streets, library building facades, toilets, water irrigation piping and so many more standing structures. We visited in August and it was very hot. One older gentlemen needed to be transported by ambulance because of the heat. We did not book a tour. We just got off the boat and ordered a taxi early before the cruise ship vans took off. That was very beneficial. We arrived at the house of Mary with only 5 other persons there looking around. By the time we left 5-10 massive tour busses were unloading tourists. Get going early in the day and you can take great pictures.
