Owner description: This well preserved building is located in the city center on Curettes Road. The elegant workmanship and carvings on the front walls of the building make it one of the most attractive in the city.

“A magical moment”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

We came to Ephesis on a Celebrity Cruise stop over. Unfortunately, on the morning of the stop over, before disembarking I ate some frozen strawberries that made me very sick. We were on a tour that covered the virgin Mary’s house on the hill, and the ruined city of Ephesus, where the Temple of Hadrian is situated.

Despite being sick and feeling awful, I could still appreciate the beauty and the significance of this site, and even managed to take a few pics.

The Temple of Hadrian is in my opinion the highlight of the site You can see depictions of the emperor Theodosius and his family.. There are statues of Medusa and Fortuna on the wall, showing the history of how Ephesus came to be.

If you take the walk from the front gate, you will pass by the temple.. it's quite magical when you turn the corner and it comes into view.

This will be on your right hand side going down hill towards the library on your tour of Ephesus. Its is the first building that gives you a sentiment on how old and well preserve the site of Ephesus is after all those years and in comparison to other historical sites in the world today. Definitely a beautiful structure that still stands pretty tall today, but wait till you reached the library a few steps further...MAJESTIC!!!!!

“Important part of excavation”
Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

Bringing this back out of the earth shows the passerby how important this pace is. That being said it is surrounded by many impressive monuments and building so it is basically a photo op.

“Quick stop a worth a photo!”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

We stopped here just for a quick picture. More like a statue than a temple - but surrounded by water and pretty scenery. Just a quick photo op - but on the way back to the boat.

“Another piece of the roman ruin puzzle”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Not much more interesting than an aquaduct. The historical significance is intriguing, but nothing outstanding given the expanse of the Roman empire. Just another piece of the puzzle in Ephesus
