“Great value - authentic and cute”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

We looked at 4 places (this being our last) and it was by far the best value, location, and most friendly. Clean, new (<1 yr with quality construction), private, satelite TV (normally wouldn't have impressed, but we hadn't watched any TV in 2 weeks), and had a huge (3' x 4'???) "walk-in" shower. The owner and her family were very nice - she even made us breakfast to-go and said good bye when we had to leave at 5:15AM for our flight.

Room Tip: many different choices - original (>100 yr old room without TV), new room with original exterior...

I stayed one night in Nazhan Hotel in january.
The staff is friendly and nice.
Nazhan Hotel have better facility than other hotels in Selcuk, and a price is reasonable.
I have a really great time here and I want to go there again.

This hotel was perfectly located for walking into the heart of town, as well as sightseeing. It was right next door to the Temple of Aretmis and St. John's Basilica and the Isabey Mosque. All great to walk around, and whet your appetite for Ephesus.

The hotel itself was small and intimate. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. Our room was on the ground floor, and it was well decorated and pretty spacious, but the bathroom was tiny, tiny. But I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

I really wanted something with some charm and character, and the Naz Han delivered. The central courtyard and roof top terraces were perfect places to hang out and meet other travellers, and we saw a fab looking guest room up on the roof - and I want to book that one next time we stay there. Recommended.

Plus - when you visit Ephesus, enter through the south gate around 8.30am. It'll be quietish down that end of the sight -- enjoy it while you can, you'll meet the crowds at the Library of Celsus!

Room Tip: There's a great little room on the rooftop

My partner and I stayed in the Naz Han at the end of October 2012. We looked at lots of hotel reviews but chose the Naz Han on the fact it looked like it had a lot of character. It certainly does!

It is less than 10 minutes walk from bot the train and bus station. When we arrived we were greeted by Mira and her sister Maria and their family. There was one small hitch; they could not take credit cards. Fortunately we had brought plenty of cash and there is a cash machine just two minutes walk away.

Our room was small but full of personality. And best of all we had the one at the front with its own balcony. We spent some evenings out there breathing in Selcuk and relaxing. But other rooms share a very large roof terrace with seating.

Breakfast was served in the central courtyard every day. Lovely fresh bread, vegetables and cheese with olives and jams and endless coffee and chay. On our last day we had to leave super early and I was most annoyed we had to miss the last breakfast!

The hotel is well placed for many restaurants and shops and is opposite the Basilica St John.

It was central to the success of our holiday and I heartily recommend it.

My husband and I spent two nights at Nazhan hotel in mid-October, 2012. The room was comfortable. The breakfasts that come with the stay included something for every taste. The hotel's owner recommended two good restaurants for our evening meals. Nazhan Hotel is walking distance from the excellent Selchuk museum.

Following the advice of another review, we procured a guided tour of Ephasus through the hotel. That tour was intelligent and thorough only too much shopping included as the final bit of the tour - however, our guide did ask whether people wanted to go shopping, and several others did. I would stay here again.

I'm an American military member stationed in Turkey. My parents flew out to join me and my wife on a trip to Istanbul and Ephesus. We spent three nights in Selcuk at the Naz Han. Mina, the lady that runs the hotel, was nothing but friendly and helpful. Our few phrases of Turkish were matched with her much better English, which kept any confusion to a great minimum. Mina's teenage son was also incredibly helpful, carrying our bags, getting us coffee, and helping out however he could - without even being asked. Breakfast was light but filling, with bread, jam, cheese, and coffee making up the majority of the meal each day. It was complimented by olives, cucumbers, and meats. The price was very reasonable.

From the train station, the easiest way to get to the hotel is to find and follow the line of ancient roman aqueducts, which culminate in some magnificent ruins and a fortress immediately across the street from the hotel. Rooftop drinks at night offer a great view of both, and when we just went in October the weather was perfect.

There is a hill you must walk up to get to the hotel entrance, (unless of course you take a cab,) but the hill is completely tolerable and nothing to complain about unless you have some seriously bad knees. I dragged a 50 pound suitcase up the hill with a broken wheel and carried another 30 pounds in my backpack, finding this to still be no problem.

The rooms are quaint. This is not an oversized commercial hotel with state-of-the-art amenities, but everything is clean and in proper working order, Mina and her family are amazingly wonderful, and the pace is relaxing and pleasant without being dull or complacent.

If you seek an escape from commercialism and aim to see any of the local sites, such as Ephesus, I highly recommend this hotel. Drinks on the roof with friends is a great way to wrap up each day!

Room Tip: Room 6, on the roof, is probably the most quiet and scenic.
