Let me say we have been surprised by how hard it is to find good coffee in Istanbul. Most locals we noticed drink tea and now we know why!
Simdi is doing their bit to change this. We had coffee, beer and a pide. The coffee was one of the best we had so far on this trip.
Likewise, the pide was excellent. The pide menu offers three basic choices followed by a list of additional items. We chose pesto (one of base options) with chicken (one of the extras). It certainly beats the limited meat or cheese options of other places. If we had time we would be going back and exploring the menus further.
The places also offers a very comfortable atmosphere. No touts, very laid back, good art on the wall and various archaeological features highlighted in the floor, walls and ceilings.
If you are in the area well worth a visit.
