“Dining in elegance”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2013

La Brise used to serve in the Pera district of Istanbul frequented by mainly youngsters and intellectuals looking for cosy bars and restaurants where outside seating was favored.
Following the restrictions for outside dining in the area, La Brise moved to its new location in the Nisantasi district, one of the highly elegant and fashionable portions of Istanbul.
I have to say that La Brise made the right move towards its target clientele since it offers elegance and style in dining. The restaurant has a heated outside seating area in addition to its schick inside dining hall also offering an elegant bar. The menue is basically French and the wine list is attractive.
I would highly recommend La Brise for its fine dining and elegant athmosphere in the heart of Istanbul.

“Relaxed atmosphere on a street without honking cars”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013 via mobile

Had lunch. A really good lunch. Quick service. Almost to quick e g the asparagus with sauce holandaise were served in less than 3 minutes after ordering them - microwave? For main a fillet with sauce bearnaise. Ordered it medium well and it was perfect. Lemontart for dessert - not perfect, a bit to dry.
But overall a very nice and calm restaurant.

“pretentious French restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

This place has moved to the '' nicer '' Nişantaşı area.
Reservation is a must.
mediocre quality French restaurant popular with the ''nice'' Istanbul crowd.
Tasteless steak & frites, long menu and OK prices.
Nothing to write home about,if you areally feel that you must eat something French in Istanbul,go otherwise skip it.

“French enough”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

This restaurant, which is now located in Nisantasi not Beyoglu, has great atmosphere and lighting. I started with Onion soup and it wasn't bad at all though it could have used more gruyere and less bread. My husband had the Caramelised Onion and Goat Cheese Tartlett and it was the worst part of the meal. The pastry tasted as if it was reheated in a microwave and the filling was like undercooked quiche. We moved onto Duck Confit for me and Steak Tartare for him, with Mushroom Rissotto to share. The duck was not bad, enjoyed it because I had missed duck but the accompanying potatoes were tasteless and both were underseasoned. My husband loved his Steak Tartare, which is saying a lot since we have lived in Paris and he eats a lot of Steak Tartare. The flavor of the rissotto was great, the rice a little undercooked but then again I am definetly not a rissotto expert. The wine list is extensive, as is the variety of beer. We skipped dessert because the selection was not impressive and we picked up some baklava on the way home. The service was excellent and very friendly and for the food mentioned above with one bottle of Leffe and one glass of Sarafin Cabernet the bill was 200tl. Just to add that if I went again I would choose either lamb or beef as a main course and would try the Foie Gras starter, all of which looked great on neighboring tables.

“Surprising”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013

Small French restaurant in a trendy neighborhood of Istanbul.
Very pleasant clean atmosphere, appears to have its regular clientele; did not see many tourists.
Menu was not very extensive for lunch but quite adequate. The food was very good, especially the salads which were tastefully served.
Service was good and unobtrusive.
