My girlfriend and I went to the Romantic Hotel for a few days at the end of our trip to Turkey. Istanbul is fantastic and this place is really close to all the major sites. The rooftop balcony (and some of the rooms) overlooks the Marmara Sea and then the beautiful Aya Sophia is in the other direction. Topkapi Palace is less than 10 minutes walk away, and the other sites and the Arasta Bazaar are also very close.
Erdal, one of the managers, was kindness personified and very eager to help with anything we needed. The only small downside is that, while the communal areas and the top floor suite (which we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to for our final night) were beautifully decorated, our first room was a little faded around the edges - the wallpaper was coming loose in places and the bathroom, while perfectly clean, looked like they may have had recent trouble with flooding from above.
All told however, this is a lovely little hotel which I would definitely recommend for people looking to spend a few days exploring the beauty of Istanbul.

Room Tip: If you can somehow arrange to get the top floor suite, do it! Otherwise, try to get a room with a sea view balcony.

A charming small hotel a short walk from the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. The staff was a delight. Orhan always helpful on night shift and big strong Atilla who managed my luggage up and down those stairs. The rooftop for breakfast or a sunset drink is divine. It appears you can touch the Blue Mosque just outside the window. The Bospherous flowing by full of all manner of vessels. You couldn't want for a better location.
It is small, the rooms are small, the stairs are narrow, but all part of the charm.
The breakfasts are lovely with pomegranite and rose petel jams. I am an oliver lover and there were plenty to choose from each morning.
We spent 3 nights at the start fo our Turkey adventure and 4 at the end.
This staff was definately some of the nicest men we met in Turkey.

Room Tip: Request the lower rooms if you don't want to climb loads of stairs each day.

The location and the roof top view are the only positive things to say about this hotel. The room was not clean, the wall paper was pealing and yellowing off the wall, the shower overflowed onto the bathroom floor and although we reported this nothing was ever done. We travelled with another couple who also agreed that the cleanliness of the rooms left alot to be desired. Their room had black mold in the bathroom. I believe the price is high for the quality (or lack of) at this hotel.
