I used to live in Istanbul and regularly visited two branches of this lovely kebabhouse. The branch in Harbiye has a better and warmer ambiance. The branch in Esentepe does not have that ambiance but is still good. Food is really good. And priced very reasonably. They raise their own cattles that's why the quality is consistent. Kebabs are simply great. Try kebab with pistachio and cheese, alsi lamb skewers... Finish with Kunefe. they do it quite well.

We ate here quite late one evening when Galatasaray were playing in the Champions League and you might imagine we wouldn't get the best attention or food, but we did. We selected mezze starters from the cabinet and also our meats from display trays. So so delicious. Really beautiful food. We were the only tourists in there and there were large groups of locals enjoying the evening. Definitely worth a visit - particularly handy if you're staying at the Hilton as very nearby.

After reading so may good reviews of this place we couldn't resist the temptation to visit a restaurant that is popular among locals. Turned out to be a very cosy place with really tasty food (we tried mixed kebab, various messes and a dessert at the end). We were the only tourists at this restaurant and nevertheless everybody was really friendly. Overall we paid 110 TYL for two persons. I am sure next time we go thre we will spend no more than 70-80 TYL as the first time we took too many different dishes and were not able to eat all of them.

Visited the restaurant with Turkish friend and sat ny the barbeque area. We were able to speak with other patrons of the restaurant as well as the Chef. The food was delicious and all patrons were happy to hear that we were from Greece. Clean, friendly and very very tasty. For the amount of the food that we ate, and the drinks that we had ( at least 1 bottle of Raki) the price was adequate. Thank you!!

We read about this restaurant on Trip Advisor. It was near the Hilton where we stayed, so we walked to it. We walked, and walked and walked... The streets were not well marked and the lanes narrow and confusing. We finally realized that had we come out of the Hilton driveway closest to Taksim Square (the entrance drive, not the exit) and crossed the street, the street for the restaurant was right there and the place itself was downhill on the left a few blocks. After a while we found it and as we finally arrived, starving, there was a massive power failure in the whole area. The owners were quite dismayed and we felt badly that their dinner service was probably not going to happen. We left and found an inferior meal someplace with electricity. Too bad.

We went back two nights later and they recognized us as the couple who came as the power failed, and they could not have been nicer. You are not going to accidentally come across this place, unless you are staying in the (quite safe and quaint, but very hilly) neighborhood. It was worth the walk, hunt and wait.

The most dominant thing about the restaurant is the huge and lovely metal grill hood with the establishment's name on it. Beneath that the chef does wonders with all sorts of Turkish food. Little to no English was spoken the night we went. This is for locals, not tourists, so the menu is not translated. That caused us to get adventurous and we just pointed at a few things -and we had a number of wonderful, fresh and delicious courses. They serve beer and we noted couples bringing in their own wine, which the staff decanted and poured for them.

The salads were large and fresh and delicious. We had several different meat dishes (we had no idea what we were ordering) that turned out to be lovely surprises. Mostly grilled and differently spiced we had lamb grilled and with a light sauce, chicken also grilled in a yougurt-based sauce with some unknown but delicious herb in it, and what tasted like a mix lamb and beef sort of stewed and served with eggplant. All of it was excellent and nicely served and presented.

The staff was friendly and attentive. This is a neighborhood place that welcomes strangers. It was worth every lira we paid for the many courses we enjoyed. Credit cards were accepted and in 10 minutes we were able to be back at the hotel. Will go again on future trips.
