“Turkish food for foodies”
Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

Good service, splendid food, great wines. It was raining while we were there and even so the atmosphere was absolutely pleasant.

Lamb dishes were soft as butter and full of flavor. Decoration was subtle and appealing and portions were just right. We will go back there again tomorrow.

You must try their home made rose ice cream and orange turkish delight they serve at the end. Very, very nice!

“Deserves its No 1 ranking”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

This restaurant deserves its high rating. It has everything going for it. Great location, terrific food - beautifully presented, and high quality non-intrusive service. You need to book at least a day in advance for a table at night - I booked a week in advance of my trip but was unable to secure a booking for a second night after I arrived, so I opted to visit a sister restaurant, the Pasazade, which is almost as good as the Imbat. Only complaint I have is the cost of wine, but this seems to be a problem everywhere in Istanbul, not just this restaurant. A must for any foodie going to Istanbul.

“Underwhelmed”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

This was heavily recommended & very busy. Our table was badly positioned being near the kitchen & a station used by staff to take reservations, so was a noisy thoroughfare. The food looked the part & wasn't unpleasant although some of the flavours seemed out of balance. The staff were under pressure & at times a bit brusque. Wouldn't recommend.

“Excellent dining”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

This was a splendid dining experience, staff very attentative and friendly. Food was delicious, freshly made, and came to the table hot. The view from the roof top made the atmosphere even better in the evening. The wines were also very good, especially the local ones. You do need to book, it gets very busy.

“Deserves its high rating”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Great view especially at night as you can see the changing colour lights on the bridge, food is very good (although I agree with a few of the comments about deserts not quite as good as the main courses) you will need to book in advance to get a table. When booking remember to ask for table closest to the balcony (in season) or next to the window (out of season) to get the best views. We had a meal for two (three courses and two bottles of wine) came to 180 TL
