We had a lunch at Konyalı Restaurant Topkapı Palace because of the scenery of the Bosphorus, the ambiance and location, The food is delicious an tasty. Prices are high.

Tip to remember: Amazing view of the Bosphorus, book a table in advance and nice to have a Turkish Coffee overlooking the Bosphorus.

Been to many places with spectacular view at tourist hotspot - e.g Santorini with full sunset view etc,

This resturant takes overpricing to a new level, a can of coke costs 12lira about over 6 USD, 2 sandwich with 2 drink cost over 76lira, this is very expensive in Istanbul with total self service.

And i must say the pricing list is not very clear to say the least- even misleading. I am a strong free market believer but reviewing down bad practices is a good IT age intervention:)

This was a great restaurant for both food and view. You can't beat the view, and I recommend making a reservation for a table with a view because it adds so much to the whole experience. The food was excellent as well. We had a Mediterranean sampler for an appetizer that was delicious. For lunch, we had kebabs and lamb which was very tasty. My friend from Istanbul recommended the place, and we couldn't have been happier.

No surprise that the only sit down restaurant in Topkapi Palace has sky high prices. This was the only real negative we had from our recent lunch. In order to get a table situated next to the wall with the great views over the Bosphorous and Marmara Sea is to order off of the a la carte menu. There is a buffet as well but you're relagated to the cheap seats.

We decided that location was more important than price. We secured a table with a fabulous view and shortly after being seated they put up the large umbrella to shield us from the very strong sun. Yes the prices are high - 32 to 40 Turkish Lira per dish, about 50% more than you'd expect to pay elsewhere - but the portions were large and the food reasonable good. I had the chicken stuffed with rice - it's not actually how it was served (a translation issue?) but had a very generous portion of shredded chicken served over rice and peas.

If you're in Topkapi Palace over lunch and really want to eat this is your best bet. Spend the extra $$$ and get a table with a view. Make sure to get there by 12:15pm at the latest, however.

The location is fantastic - within Topkapi palace, overlooking the Bosphorus and Asian Istanbul - a view chosen by the Sultans so should be good. The service was very good, not to say theatrical with the food unveiled from under brass covers. The food was pretty good, but if I am honest, a little disappointing. The prices at the end were high - but you are paying for probably the best location in the most touristy part of town so probably to be expected. Worth it if you can afford it for the view.
