We had mezes: circissian chicken with walnuts and garlic really good, fried aubergine with tomatoes and yoghurt nice. But especially we liked boiled lamb with potatoes and carrot - very simple but delicious. Could have been warmer, though.

Since I haven't had much experience with Turkish food I cannot comment on the authenticity of the food. The set up was quite fun and unusual with the restaurant spread out on to 5 buildings on a small street tucked away from the human traffic of Istiklal St. We wondered there looking for a nice but not too posh place to eat and wondered on to a street and saw Ficcin, first we were discouraged by the lack of diners but we trusted the 4.5 point rating from tripadvisor printed on the door and boy am I glad we did.

To our surprise the section/building we entered was fool and the food they were having looked amazing, when we had a look at the menu we were even more surprised by the price range. We had few mezes and enjoyed it especially the 'fried aubergine with yoghurt and tomato sauce'. Though we enjoyed our mains, I had the 'Circassian Ravioli with meat'; tempted to try the one with potatoes next time. It was delightful and my friends all enjoyed their main although the 'Ficcin special' looked like a dry meat pie to me.

But overall, good customer service, nice ambience, Tasty food and last but not least great price lead to a nice start to a wonderful Saturday night in Istanbul.

Previous reviews about this being a foodie hotspot are sadly untrue. This place, both food and ambience, is adequate at best.

We came across this restaurant by total accident as a recommendation from a friend that grew up in Turkey. On her recent visit she tried this restaurant and recommended it to us when she found out we were vacationing here.
We are real foodies, grew up in Moscow, and live in New York now. My father is restaurateur and i'm pretty spoiled when it comes to great eats. Besides having this recommendation from my friend who is a local and praised this restaurant, i can not say enough about the quality of the food. We had lamb chops that can compare with any top New York restaurants. The owner was the sweetest lady since Alexander the Great romed the streets. She hand picked all the food herself for us, and gave us a mixed appetizer platter of salads (we loved the eggplant with yogurt, but all the salads were fresh and had a great mixture to fire on all the taste buds). She also brought out a meat pastry, that the restaurant is known for that we highly recommend as well.
Again top quality meat, phenomenal service, great prices, and authentic Turkish food, mix that in with hefty wine portions, a romantic street and an owner that is passionate about her love for food ( she also teaches a cooking class) and you've got one of the best restaurants in Istanbul.
