In the content of an educational trip we spent a long weekend in Istanbul. Our travel office on short notice cancelled the originally booked hotels and booked the Golden Hill with the remark, that they know the hotel and its good. When we arrived the reception area and the lobby was ok. The first negative impression was, that the hotel is located just a a main street with almost 24 hours of traffic. When we received the keys to the rooms it was the second negative impression, because the person at the reception handed us key cards, that normally will be programmed individually per room, but here they wanted to safe the cost so they have one set of cards and its programmed only once. The room was as I already expected according to others here in trip advisor. THe carpet looked like you don't want to walk barefoot the bed was ok, the TV was old and noisy so I pulled the power cord to keep it off. The bathroom on a first look was ok, but after deeper investigation it was as written from others. The toilet seat looked dirty and the shower was one of these massage, radio, light things, but the only thing worked was the water, everything else was broken.
Air condition in my room was not cooling, just making noise, so I had to decide between sweating or keeping the window open and having noise.
Breakfast was I assume typical turkish. A lot of different cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, only white bread, hard boiled eggs, Cereals with an unidentifiable sauce, cold french fries and sausages. The coffee was even worse so either people drink tea or water.
The hotel was mainly occupied by arab tourists or turkish citizens.
They also have a Spa and according to one of the members of the group it looked okay, but nobody tried it.
Important to know that the hotel is located directly at the part of this main street where the prostitutes are standing.
Positive is that the station for the street car is only 50 mtrs away.

My trip is'nt over yet.right now i am using hotel's internet and i should say it is really convenient.
Our beds are clean and comfortable.
Staff is really polite and helpful and they can speak english.
The carpets are not clean or new but the walls are good and i guess new.
Ilike the breakfast it's nice.location is good and easy tovgo everywhere.
This is not a lux hotel but it is a comfrtable place to stay for a couple of days.

Stayed here in a triple room for two nights. The hotel location is okay as it is near to Findikzade tran station. Walking distance to Aksaray.

The room is quite big and clean. But there is some problem with the aircond. As it is summer in Istanbul, the weather is very hot and the aircond is not that cool! Besides that the toilet has some weird smell. I dont know what it is and the floor is greasy.

The dinner and breakfast buffet is okay. Not many selections.

some of the hotel staffs are not friendly. But some are very warm. One of the staffs help me to send my clothes for laundry service.

I am planning to come back to Istanbul, but I wouldn't stay in this hotel any more.
