“An Absolute Must”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

With recommendations from friends, we prioritized eating here while visiting Istanbul. And we are so happy that we did. We made reservations though I don't think we needed to. There are also two spots to eat - one with wine/beer and the other without. We didn't realize this - and would have liked a glass of wine with dinner but were seated at the one without alcohol. But overall it didn't matter. The food was incredible ..... and this was absolutely our favorite meal in Istanbul.

We were invited to the kitchen to view the many pots of food - and we selected the dishes that we wanted to try. We over-ordered as we wanted to try as many dishes as possible. I have to confess that we lost track of what we ordered - and we would try one dish loving it but had no idea what we were eating. It didn't really matter - as everything was delicious. I would return to this restaurant over and over again. I so wish it was closer to my home ...... however I love that it's an experience one has while visiting Turkey.

You must, must, must eat here .....

“Excellent food”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

From all these reviews on tripadvisor we weren't sure about the quality but when we got there all the doubts went away. The headchef was very nice and explained all the food and gave suggestions. The food was excellent, restaurant was neat and atmosphere was great. We ordered lamb kebabs, veal skewer kebabs, eggplant filling and cabbage pie. At the end for to my amusement the bill was just TL 61.5. I would definitely go there again.

“Great mezzes”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

On the Asian side of Istanbul, in a fun area of outdoor restauants.Wonderful mezzes, paid for by weight, and selected from a "mezze bar". Mains also selected from a bar. Not a fancy restaurant, but quality of food was outstanding and cuisine was authentic Turkish/Ottoman. Very casual, tables close together and very convivial crowd. Very reasonable prices. No alcohol.

“Amazing multi-course meal”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

This was the best meal we had in Istanbul, thanks to our guide. Starters were varied and terrific, kabobs juicy and tasty, and desserts were amazing. Try the candied eggplant and walnut plate for dessert, and get the special kabob (meat wrapped in thin bread with herbs and cheese, amazing). Hallway had recent write-ups from Food & Wine and Saveur magazines, among others.
