Description: Tarihi Cesme Restaurant is located in the historical heart of Istanbul on the half-island of Eminonu very near to the big sights like the little Aya Sofya mosque and the old Sokullu baths. The restaurant has three storeys and a romantic garden with a view on the centuries old fountain and the picturesque streets. On the menu you’ll find the traditional Turkish dishes; hot as well as cold food. Off course all the kebaps are served, but the restaurant also serves fresh fish, pides and one should really try the house speciality: Cesme kebap. A real treat! We would like to welcome you in our restaurant one day.

We first went to this restaurant as it was directly opposite our hotel, but went back a few times as we enjoyed the food and experience. A good range of typical Turkish dishes, including tasty mezzes and delicious warm 'balloon' bread. The friendly service from the host and his team made the whole experience very enjoyable. Prices are reasonable too.

The place was recommended by the hotel and it was convenient since it was nearby. The food was good with a varied local menu. What makes this place stand out is certainly the service which was exceptional. Definitely recommended if you are around the area. Price was also very reasonable.

This is a great little restaurant that we went to 3 nights out of 6. Two of the other nights we wished we had gone here! Mehmet and the others are very attentive, the mezzes are delicious, the warm balloon bread fresh from the oven wonderful, as are the main dishes and desserts and wine. Also the traditional Anatolian music playing was lovely and we asked and then managed to buy a CD of it. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

We stopped here the first night in Istanbul. It's a quiet area far away from the super crowded touristic area next to Haya Sofia, but it's still just a 5 minute walk from there. Food is typical Turkish and it's definitely good. We had two excellent pita. Prices are fair but for sure you can get cheaper places in the area.
