“high quality for business”
Reviewed November 8, 2011

This hotel presents high quality for business travelers. The rooms are very big, the bathroom and toilet clean and the service is outstanding. Breakfast buffet is really rich and even if there is no pork meat and alcohol served in the whole hotel - which I see as a concession to the islamic religion to accept this - you will not starve a minute. If you have a problem, you can always ask one of the employees, who are always speaking an understanable English. I stayed there more than 10 times, and I will continue doing so.

I stayed with my wife and 6 month old daughter in two different rooms over 5 nights. We were visiting family that lives within walking distance of the hotel, so for us the location was perfect, though I am not sure why one would choose to stay in this neighborhood unless you had business locally. Most of the guests seemed to be staying on business. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. One of the two rooms we stayed in turned out to be a suite with a small room that had its own door -- wish we had stayed there for every night given our 6 month old's sleep schedule. So be sure to inquire if you have a preference or special needs. The buffet breakfast is included in the rate and quite good with both cold and hot food selections. Service was excellent throughout our stay. Do not take the airport shuttle that is located in the hotel, though. We asked what the rate would be and it was outrageous. Speaking Turkish and knowing the local rates and options put us at an advantage, so be cautious. The history of the hotel is interesting; it had been a recovery center for wealthy patients having elective surgery, so there are still services such as plastic surgery, spa treatments, etc. The gym is large, though a good walk through a maze of corridors. Excellent choice if this is where you need to be.

Like another who reviewed this hotel whilst actually here, i am currently sitting in the hotel after two days our of a 4 day stay. I am here on business first and foremost so location wise for my clients and staff this is perfectly located, not sure in the grand scheme of visiting Istanbul how well located it would be but for my purpose location is ok.

The rooms are clean enough, if a little dated in design and presentation, as a seasoned business traveller i would say it is in line with the 110 euros per night i am paying to stay here but not worth any more than that.

Pros as i see them

1) well located
2) clean and tidy
3) located right next to a huge shopping mall which is very modern and has lots of shops - a handy bridge leads to within 200 yards of it

Cons as i see them (which unfortunately outweigh the pros)

1) No alcohol served here - at first i thought this wasnt going to be a problem as i thought a few days detox that will be great, but funny thing is when you know you cant get it, you want it even more! i find myself gagging for a cold beer at the end of the day but knowing i cant get one!
2) the internet is so tightly restricted i cant even look at any website remotely outside of their strict firewall. and as a solo traveller with not much to do, not even leenks works (which isnt porn by the way- even though every site i have tried so far has not worked! may aswell be honest! haha)
3) the front of house staff say the right things but dont act on them, 4 times i asked for simple information with the promise of a call back only to find myself chasing them up
4) the breakfast buffet is one of the strangest mixes of foods ive witnessed! am i being culturally insensitive when i say "who on earth eats a full green salad for breakfast" i bet there will be a deluge of morning salad eaters contacting me now.
5) if you are English (or use English as your main spoken language - the same for any language outside Turkish, then forget watching TV, one channel (BBC f'ing news!!) and fashion TV who lets be honest, nobody watches!! 55 channels, all turkish with the exception of RTL, TV1 and BBC News.

So to sum up in the words of my Dad who just phoned me, enjoy the news and your glass of milk!!

All the best.

We stayed in this hotel while visiting family. We traveled with our children (6,5 yrs & 15 months). We booked a triple room. The room was nice and spacious with a separate room for the 3rd bed. Carpeting looked a little old and not so clean. The towels also needs to be changed.
The hotel doesn't serve alcohol as it is a Spa hotel...
Breakfast is great, wide variety of local & international food.
Service was professional and nice with the kids.

The rooms were quite clean though bit small. It was quite comfortable with small mini bar and microwave. The bathroom was clean with nice bath fittings.

The breakfast was ok nothing great. The breakfast selection, provided was a variety of salads, cheeses, fruit, breads, pastries, hot stuff in tureens, juices and ... quails eggs of all things. Not a standard continental / western european/american choices, but ok. The staff are quite there to help you in all the way they are polite and helpful.

Location wise i believe it is not good for visitors are it is located in commercial area on the asian side of the Bospherous. Though it was a stone throw from my office. Considering the Turkey traffice to be very much this is quite a drive from the airport. Gym is maintained well. It is large and pretty well equipped and staffed. Conference facilities downstairs are good too. Overall a good business choice, but for not so good for pleasure

I sit in the Byotell as I write this, using the cable internet connection that works quite well. I'm not paying for it, but I think someone else is, don't think its free. My room is a small corner room. Clean, comfortable with nice bathroom fittings. The mini-bar, as others have pointed out is stocked with soft drinks and water, plus there is a little tray with crisps and nuts in it. Took breakfast this morning and found it a bit odd, in a good way, I think. First, I was comfortably out-numbered by staff desperate, it would seem, for something to do. That meant I got that weird over-attentive type service where every spent tea-spoon is whipped away the second it hits the table. The breakfast selection, on the other hand, bordered on bewildering. Very large choice of salads, cheeses, fruit, breads, pastries, hot stuff in tureens, juices and ... quails eggs of all things. Not standard western european/american choices, but very good.
Location wise it isn't great. It is in a busy commercial area on the asian side of the Bospherous, quite a drive from the airport if the traffic is heavy. Service at reception is pretty good. Polite but not over the top. Gym (which I just used) is large and pretty well equipped and staffed. Conference facilities downstairs are good too. Overall a good business choice, but for any other reason? Not sure
