I have been together with my wife for the very first time in Instanbul for a citybreak of 3 nights to Amisos Boutique Hotel, recomanded by my travel agent
Location is quite all right but only just taking into consideration the historical sites around Sultanahmet.
The rooms are small ,but cozy and cleaned every day.The only big issue during my 3 day staying here ,was that on 24-25 degrees Celsius outside, inside was probably 27-28 degrees. And now the big surprise ,unexpected from 4 * boutique hotel:when you wanted the turn on the A/C it goes automaticaly only on heating!!(centralized system)
With all discussions I had with the front desk it was no way to turn the A/C on chiller system, probably because of increasing the costs .
The other big problem it was that the street where it's located this hotel seems it's like a "national road" where all the buses, minibuses, cars, concret trucks, you named it, are running almost 20/24 hrs and we found out (after we have riched the place) that is the only way which connect Sultanahmet by the others districts. The noise was absolutely unsupportable, and we have slept no more than 4-5 hours per night, because you had to choose between having a little fresh air by having window open and have the noise from passing cars on the street"free of charge" , or having a little bit of quitness(closing window) but in condition of doing in the same "sauna" because of internal temperature.
On one more thing related to the hotel:breakfast was far away from a 4* boutique hotel could offer, very poor and no to many options to improve, and belive me I was travelling o lot around Europe and I assume this comment.Sorry but this it's the reality. The expectations are different from a 4 * hotel ,because the prices are quite different than 3* or 2 * hotels(at least you know what you pay for it)
In rest I would say that the histrorical sites are very well preserved and really worth every penny of visiting these!
So we came back more tied than we have left, but at least we will remained in our memory with all these superb landscapes & amazing places.
From my point just few tips for having a nice & pleasant citybreak or holiday before you go:check 2 times the sorroundings & condition of the hotel you would like to book.Read reviews from trusted travel sites
Have a nice & pleasant holliday wherever you will riched this year! Enjoy every minute!
