We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and loved it! To be fair, we were upgraded from a double room to a private suite, and the room was superb. Extremely comfortable bed and modern kitchen and bathroom.

The staff were amazing and really went out of their way to assist us and make us feel welcome, over and above what is expected these days.

The location is fabulous, very close to all the major attractions in Istanbul. Would highly recommend this place to others.

I wouldnot suggest anyone to go to a hotel where you pay money to be disrespected on your vacation.
This hotel was our last stop in our turkey visit. There are 4 locations of this hotel, the main office is hidden away somewhere 'tiringly' far from the metro and all the sightseeing locations. Because there are so many locations of this same hotel. Everyone, we asked for directions kept giving us different directions and it resulted in a lot of confusion and frustration, and the worse is all the locations didn't even have a board on them saying the name of the hotel. After a lot of hunting around we finally found one of the hotels and then the manager directed us to the head office. There he made us wait at the lobby for 1.5 hours telling us he would give us information, we waited and waited and finally he told us the normal check in time is 1:30 and told us to come back around 3pm(and he told us this at 11:45). While conveying this bit of information if anyone was approaching him he preferred to give them information first instead of us. We felt highly disrespected. If we hadnt had paid in advance we would have looked for alternatives. He wasted our time and then disrespected us. The day we were leaving we went to the main office to check whether we had anything else to pay for, the manager went inside immediately and sent his subordinate to talk to us, we preferred that too.

Really mixed... we stayed in for several days in a "standart" suite in the building with the office/cafe.

Summary - short stay, no longer. There are better places to stay in Istanbul for similar prices. When we came back through Istanbul a few days after leaving we stayed elsewhere.

Plusses...
– Larger apartment with a decent sized bathroom.
-- AC worked well provided we left it on all the time. But there are vents in the windows that can't be closed, and these reduce the the effectiveness of the AC.
-- Clean
-- Very comfortable beds, sheets. Even the fold-out (couch) was comfortable to sleep on
-- Convenient access to the usual sites and public transportation
– It's a residential neighborhood with good access to services like laundry (see minuses), produce, restaurants, butchers, bakery, etc.
-- Staff is nice.
-- Wifi is good enough to handle reasonable quality IP telephone calls. Theirs was the best we've encountered in any hotel this year.

Minuses
-- Washer and dryer access was one of a few key selection criteria (location and kitchen being the others). Sultanahmet Suites advertise access to a washing machine and dryer at extra cost, and it was mentioned in the confirmation email. On the phone I confirmed self-serve laundry was available on the phone (person I spoke with, Aylin, added that it's downstairs, which is ok with us). However when we got there Deniz told us they only have laundry service at 50 TL per load, that the equipment isn't for resident use, and that they'd prefer we went to one of the abundant laundries outside the hotel.
– Hot water was erratic. The on-demand boiler would cycle on and off mid-shower.
-- There are bars on all the windows. I know one of the other reviewers considers this a plus, but there's also no fire escape. Walk around the neighborhood and you'll see the occasional burned out building - how do you get out if the hallway's blocked? Even if someone has a ladder high enough when you need it (a big "if").
-- Having a kitchen was nice, but there was no way to plug in the vent because there weren't enough outlets to run it and the burners. Even if we had been able to plug it in, the vent wasn't connected to the chimney - it just vented into the cabinet. The kitchen was also incomplete - no oven, inadequate silverware.
– Not sure how observant they are when things need repair. The shower clearly leaked onto the floor, and the kitchen vent clearly was broken/unuseable, but neither of these were touched while we were there (and admittedly, we didn't ask, either).

Would highly recommend this main suite location.
The owner was very nice and helpful, more than I have experienced elsewhere....
Check in was a breeze and he seemed more concerned that we settle in and recover from our trip....client foccussed!
Was treated to traditional breaskfast of paprika tomatoes and apple tea! Loved it.
Good location in a classic part if the old quarter of town.
Good position for a few forays for food.....owner recommended local on called cesme (pronounced chesmay) ......for tea... Wonderful, ended going twice more.
We had the top floor of the apartments, 4th floor, 65 steps with just enough room for a foot on each, luckily the bags were carried up for us. Our appartment extended out on to a patio overlooking the sea of mamara......classic view.
One has to accept the minuet 50m away that announces the call to prayers starting at 5:30am, but religion aside, I didn't mind it...nor during our afternoon nanna nap.
Good location for blue mosque and bazaar.
If it hadnt been for gastro on the last 2 days before departing for uk, we would have enjoyed it more......
As a serviced appartment.....you could not beat this and again, the owner fell over backwards to make our stay pleasant.......he suceeded

Room Tip: See if you can get the top floor

Great Location Apartment for Sightseeing; realistic view of old town heritage and friendly helpful neighborhood people; very enlightening. Manager and staff were very helpful with tours and everything you need, just ask. Throughout my trip to Turkey I stayed in 9 different hotels and the bed here was the BEST, soft down-like bedding and comforter, a blessing after a day touring. I highly recommend it! Best of Luck to All at Sultanahmet Suites!

Room Tip: IMPORTANT: There are four different townhouse apartment buildings; when you arrive at the main offic...

This is the best value for price in Sultanahmet. It seems that they have several rooms spread out over different buildings in the neighborhood, but we didn't think was any problem. The room/bathroom is smaller than average (we just spend time in the rooom to sleep), but very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was also very friendly and accomodating.

Another minor plus is that we had a fridge that actually had a freezer. You'll get ice cold water/beer when you get back to your room after a day of sightseeing instead of the typicaly barely cool european mini-fridge that we typically experienced on our trip to Europe/Turkey.

We booked two rooms in June and stayed for four nights. Deniz, Harun, Ali and Kirana were helpful and made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. We had breakfast in the cafe each morning and the service was excellent. Deniz and Harun went over and above what was expected to make sure we had everything we needed. The suites are well appointed, and clean. We swapped rooms after two nights and although the second room we stayed in was smaller, the balcony was spacious and provided a perfect area to sit at night and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. We enjoyed being within walking distance of major attractions such as the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar.
