“Friendly, elegant boutique Hotel”
Reviewed October 11, 2009

This boutique hotel is well located in the old section of Istanbul. The rooms are small, but very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the room was quiet. The only small complaint I have is that the hairdryer is the kind that is attached to the bathroom wall and I prefer a hand held dryer. The breakfast is excellent with a variety of local and international food. There is a small but very attractive pool and spa in the basement.

We loved this hotel from the moment we stepped in the lobby. After being welcomed by Pelin with maps, cay and simits, we went to our room. We loved the traditional ottoman decor. Our room had a large balcony that overlooked Gulhane park and the Bosphorous. All the staff was warm and friendly, helping us with anything we needed. From helping us bubble-wrap ceramics to send home, to directions around the city, they were great. The breakfast buffet was fabulous and very turkish and a great start to each morning. My only regret is we didn't spend enough time there! We will definitely be back to this great hotel.

We stayed in Sirkeci Konak for four nights in our honeymoon and recommend it!

The hotel is brand new and very charming, with Ottoman decor. Our room was spotless, had wi-fi, flat-screen tv and a thub (not all standards have one, so ask in advance).

Service was incredible: great staff, complimentary pick-up at the airport and three-course dinner (don't forget to order the "meze plate" to begin your Turkish gastronomic experience). Breakfast was also excellent, with all sorts of bread, cheese and fresh honey.

Location is great for sightseeing, most major attractions are within walking distance. If you take a taxi to go out at night, ask the reception to call it: the drivers from most taxis we took at the streets tried to cheat on us by charging ridiculous prices. Apart from that, our stay in Istanbul was perfect!

After being picked up by the hotel from the airport, upon arrival, my boyfriend and I were treated to delicious apple tea and little sandwiches while the concierge sat down with us and explained everything about the city and answered all of our questions! We were then taken to our room which was clean, spacious, quiet and gorgeous and had a little plate of fresh Turkish delight :) one word- AMAZING!!! Everything that our heart desired was brought to us and I can saftely say that the staff went above and beyond any other hotel (not even the Ritz!) and with a most pleasant and helpful demeanor! The breakfast buffet was wonderful and scrumptious, the Turkish bath was super relaxing and I strongly recommend the peeling- I felt truely clean like having a new skin! There is no doubt that we will be staying at Sirkeci Konak again and they deserve 7 stars if it was possible! Everything was perfect- EVERYTHING!!!

When we arrived our rooms were unavailable for the first night of our stay due to plumbing problems. The hotel offered us alternative free accommodation for that night, upgraded to suites, at their sister hotel a few hundred yards away, and a complimentary hotel transfer. This was a great way to handle the situation. We moved back the next day and the service throughout was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive and very helpful in booking restaurants etc. Breakfast buffet was outstanding and hot dishes varied each day. Rooms weren't huge but were spotlessly clean, and free wifi and afternoon tea were nice touches. Location is superb- you can walk to Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar, and tram stop 50 yds away. Just off main route, so reasonably quiet- our rooms overlooked the Topkapi gardens. Excellent value.

We were impressed by this hotel from the moment the taxi door opened. We were warmly welcomed by everyone from the door to our room to the restaurant. Nothing was lacking in their approach to impeccable service.
