This is a very nice Hotel- well situated near Taksim. Rooms are small but with nice designs and features. The Red Room is best on the top floor. We also stayed in the Sultan Room but this can be a bit noisy as is on first floor so you get noise from the breakfast room if you are having a lie in.

One of the great things about this Guest House/Hotel is that sitting outside in the terraced area at the front of the house (in a cul de sac) you are provided with tea and coffee and even cake without any charge on your bill- so feels very hospitable.

Not cheap but central Istanbul isn't. We would stay here again- lovely breakfasts to set you up for a day of sight seeing.

Granted, the staff were very kind and obliging but this hotel is overpriced for what it is. Rooms advertised with seating area and terrace with sea views. The terrace is not connected to any room and the seating area is outside. The rooms are small but nicely decorated(quirky) and very clean. It is in a handy spot for visiting Istanbul and we loved being in the Byoglu district away from the busy tourist areas.

Totally enjoyed my time here 2 nights in Zen room.lovely, helpful and warm staff. an dam it I forgot to check out the rooftop terrace,as with most rooftops in this part of town ,are amazing, delivering exotic and mysterious Bosporus views. The great break fast at common table was the best start to the day, I wish I had more time here, was sad to leave.

I just spent 4 days at the Noble House Galata. The welcome was absolutely out of world. Dilek and Sabri made sure that all my needs and requests were being met. The delicious breakfast was more than plentiful and the rooms very comfortable. Thank you again for this wonderful stay. There is no doubt in my mind that next time I visit Istanbul Ill be staying again at the Noble House Galata!!

We recently stayed at the Noble House for three nights. I believe you can have a very nice stay here in most cases, but our case was not one of those situations. We had a (serious) problem with our room, which was resolved after informing the staff. What's most troubling is that they were fully aware of the problem before they gave it to us and put the burden on us to make issue of the fact. Here are the details and a strong warning if you book a room there.

We booked an upgraded suite room and upon arrival were taken to the "Red" Room, the top floor room in the five story walkup. We entered the room with the staff member and detected a slight foul odor, but all of the windows were wide open. We quickly took off to go explore for our first night in Istanbul. The smell was slightly worse when returned but not intolerable and its source was unknown. We didn't say anything the next day, which we sorely regret because when we returned late (on the 2nd night) the smell was intolerable. It was clearly sewage. We were unable to sleep--the odor was so bad that our noses just wouldn't acclimate to it. We tried opening up the windows to let in fresh air, but were quickly joined by mosquitoes. The entire night went by sleepless. In retrospect, it was a big mistake of ours to not inform the staff of the problem immediately. BUT here's where the REAL PROBLEM is...

On the second morning, when I went to inform the staff, I barely had my mouth open when the staff member said "It's the smell, isn't it?". Basically they knew the whole time. In fact, it was even more clear when examining the situation. The room had several air fresheners (absent from other rooms) and the culprit (an improper sewage exhaust pipe) had been hastily covered with a washcloth. We should have never been given the room. No one should be given that room until the problem is fixed. BE WARNED, if you book here, refuse the Red room.

Unfortunately, they also said that we should have told them earlier and that they would have resolved the problem. But as I explain above, they were aware of the problem upon our arrival. They essentially waited to see if we complained--putting the responsibility/burden on us to raise the issue. That's not right.

To their defense, they did resolve the problem by changing our room for the third night. They even gave us a bottle of wine and made a modest reduction to our bill.

I believe the proprietors will try to make you happy if you tell them you have a problem. But an excellent business will do so before there is a problem.

One additional warning. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel. When our cab driver (who didn't speak english) tried calling the hotel for exact directions, he was unable to reach anyone at the hotel who spoke Turkish (ironic, no?). The hotel hires temporary staff, some which do not speak Turkish, and occasionally they are the only ones on duty. Get solid directions in advance. Having an address and even a map with the exact location marked were not enough for our taxi driver.

Room Tip: Refuse the Red Room!!! Surprisingly, it's an "upgraded" suite, but you will regret it...

Dear fellow travelers, we decided to skip the big chain hotels and stayed at the Galata Hotel. It was great that it is so close to Iztikal Cadessi (the bohemian heart of Istambul) but without the noise. The bedrooms are all individually (lovingly) decorated and have nice wooded or water views (we looked into a couple of them). But utmost was the service. really friendly people and a great overall atmosphere. I will certainly stay there next time in Istambul.

Room Tip: We stayed at the 'Black room' and it is certainly supper cool. It had a disco ball in the ba...

I couldn't recommend a more perfect hotel! The staff is so friendly, welcoming, and gracious, it was like I was visiting home, only my home was in Istanbul! The hotel itself is so charming and colorful, with unique and very clean rooms, air conditioning(or you can turn the A/C off and open the very large windows!), and best of all, a delicious Turkish breakfast served every morning. There is a beautiful and cool(temperature-wise) courtyard to in which to wake up & eat breakfast in, rest at the end of the day, or chat with other guests(all of whom were quite friendly).
Very well located in the Galata district.
Worth every penny!!!
