“Most helpful, friendly with cosy rooms”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2014

We stayed here two nights, Nil was most helpful and a delight. Was hard to find, but it was dark and we had just got off tram, once daylight found bearings, so close to everything. Highly recommend. Very clean, our room was small but cosy, all you need when visiting is a good bed.

Room Tip: Not for wheelchair bound people....

Simple hotel, without luxuries but it is just behind the most famous Mosques (5 minutes walking). Its prices are much cheaper than all the rest of the hotels next to. Small rooms but very usefull. And I can't forget about the staff, always trying to help us with a smile in their faces.
The perfect hotel to visit Istambul, staying in the city center at a good price.

The Antique Hotel is a nice, little hotel in a good location in Sultanahmet. The hotel has a nice breakfast on the rooftop terrace with some drinks, pastries, fruit, veggies and hard boiled eggs.

The rooms and bathrooms are clean. They are very small, but my husband and I had no problems leaving each of our large travel backpacks on either side of the bed. The bathrooms are VERY small though.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, with showing us on a map how to get places, storing our luggage after we checked out, calling a taxi for us, and helping to carry our luggage on arrival and departure. But the worker (maybe owner?) did the nicest thing when I was checking out. He said he had noticed me heading to breakfast with wet hair, and because he knows the hair dryer in our room is broken he wanted to give me a discount! He said it was just a small discount, but actually it was almost 20 percent off our room rate for both nights. I thought that was excellent service, especially since I hadn't even mentioned the hair dryer or complained.

Overall, a nice place to stay in Istanbul near the historic sites.

Room Tip: There is no elevator, only a small staircase. (But the staff will help carry your luggage.)

From the moment we arrived at Antique Hotel we were welcomed and looked after for the duration of out stay. The staff here treated us so well and made us feel at home. The breakfast was a great tipical turkish spread. The Hotel is great value for money and so close to the centre of Istanbul. We would recomend this Hotel and would definately stay again.

I have only the best words for this hotel, everything is perfect. It is buget hotel, value of money. Stuff r more then perfect, very helpful, friendly, make u feel in this hotel like u r at home. Rooms r small but clean and in good condition. Breakfast is delicious, especially the fresh and warm pastry, served on the terrace with great view on the sea. Location of the hotel is very good, very near to Blue mosque, Aya sofya, Topkapi palace. Tram station Sultanahmet is 5 min from the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel, for my next trip sure i will choose this hotel.

This little hotel/hostel has about as good a location for a tourist to Istanbul as they get. This is obvious from the map, after all. For a first timer the hotel's address is a bit difficult to locate, but as I came to know the manager and staff, they are helpful whenever they can and upon request they'll describe the location to you better than online maps (and taxi drivers). Our room was smallish, just a bit larget than the queen-sized bed, but it had a perfectly working bathroom, thorough room cleaning service, operational AC... Very satisfactory. Breakfasts on the roof terrace (this is a common feature of hotels in the area, count on the three flights of stairs to climb) with a sea view were very pleasant. The stuff to eat was uncomplicated, but the variety was just right and one could eat their fill. In all likelihood you will want to leave a decent tip at the desk, when your stay is finished. Note: If you fly to Sabiha Gokcen airport, it is worth arranging one of the area's "hotel" shuttles rather than combining Taxim shuttles and public transportation. The small saving in the latter case cannot outweigh the former's comfort.
