“Apartment-No, Hotel-Yes”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

Hotel Antique has apartments available, but I would not recommend them. The first one we stayed at was in an old and decrepit building. Most of the furniture was broken and there were no eatings spaces or sitting spaces. The beds were also very old and needed to be replaced. However, the neighborhood was very good, a few blocks away from the water front and very close to all the historical sites. Plus, there was very little traffic, which was perfect for my three year old son. The second apartment we stayed at on our return trip a few weeks later was in a beautiful building quite far from Hotel Antique, but close to all the sites. The apartment was wonderful, and well decorated, but no air conditioning (agg!). The apartment was located in a in a working neighborhood and so it was bustling and full of real people, not just tourists. There were many small markets around and a large children's park just a few blocks away. Unfortunately, shortly after we arrived, the water shut off and stayed off. We hailed a cab back to Hotel Antique and stayed there for the remainder of the visit. The hotel itself is a very nice budget hotel, and I would stay there again because the staff was so helpful. Enis even carted us around in his own car. I would definitely hold off on staying at the apartments until the hotel gets a bit more organized. It's definitely harder to stay at an apartment in a new city because the lack of support from a concierge. However, I would definitely recommend staying at the hotel.

This Hotel is very very close to them Blue Mosque and other main attractions of Istanbul. It is clean and tidy. The staff go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay. I had trouble with a rental car, and the manager got on the phone and sorted it out for me. Fantastic service. The roof top terrace is available to enjoy a byo drink while taking in the views across the city and the Marmara sea. An excellent breakfast is served here each morning too.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a value for money, very centrally located hotel, with helpful staff.

If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive and simple hotel you will be happy with Antique. The rooms aren't much but the helpfulness of Enis, the owner makes up for the small and simple rooms. Overall, a clean, welcoming, and pleasant experience.

If you are looking for a clean place to sleep and easy access to the tourist areas,
I will highly recommend this place.
The owner is friendly, helpful and speak excellent English.
Although the night staff doenst speak much English, he is still extremely helpful and nice!
Breakfast on the terrace on the top level has a nice view of the mamara sea. Breakfast is also prepared by a very friendly nice cheerful lady. She even baked a cake and offered it to the guests!

On the down side, it is abit old and run down. if you can go pass the asethetics, this is defintely a place to stay. For this B&B, it's the charm and friendliness that shine throughout.
If this place undergoes a face lift and refurbishment, I would dare say it will be hard to get a room there!

Nice hotel. Clean. Close to all major attractions. I had to move rooms all three nights when I stayed there which was lousy. If you have to buy water at the hotel, be prepared to pay 3x the amount. Breakfast was decent here. Tea was always overcooked.

My daughter and I stayed at the Antique Hotel over Christmas. Mustafa and his brother in law who run the little hotel were kind, friendly, well informed and hospitable. The place was very good value for money, clean and warm, and the breakfasts were substantial. The hotel is just metres away from the Blue Mosque and other attractions and to get to other places the nearby Tramway is great. We will have to return in summer when the hotel terrace is open, and we will have time to do justice to the amazing city that is Istanbul.

The budget minded traveler will be happy with the Antique Hotel. The modest rooms are clean, warm and welcoming. The substantial breakfast buffet on the enclosed rooftop deck is a wonderful way to start the day. -- The location is convenient and it is possible to walk to many of Istanbul's interesting sites. -- Enis and other staff members are extremely helpful and will do all that they can to make sure your trip to Istanbul is all that you want it to be. They will also help you plan the next step in your travels around Turkey. We began our adventure at the Antique Hotel and returned at the end of our visit to Turkey. It felt like returning home....
