“Great times!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2013

Prime location, clean & adorable rooms, amazing staff, what else could you ask for? A stone's throw from the major landmarks of Sultanahmet. The comfortable rooms have flair and is well heated during the cooler months. Have lunch downstairs after a day of shopping at the Grand Bazaar, their secret sauce with bread is to die for, we asked for four servings. In the evening, relax at one of the many hookah bars down the street, or catch a quick cab to Taksim. But the best thing about this well situated hotel is the staff (Hi Orhan & Sinem!), they make you feel immediately welcomed, always ready to dole out helpful advice for the Istanbul first timer. They made our experience here that much more hilarious, and that much more fun.

This hotel is clean and has a great atmosphere. The staff is super friendly. They have a family dynamic which is warm and welcoming. Tony is great and super charismatic. Orhan is a sweetheart and super helpful (and very cute ;) !) My stay was about 3 days long. The location is fantastic because you are right in between the blue mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque) and the Hagia Sophia. The food at Cezir is amazing, my favorite is the pillow bread and oil it comes with. Overall I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a hotel with character and a sense of family from the staff.

We had a really nice time staying at the Med Cezir hotel. The people who work there are so lovely and helpful, and it is right in the heart of the old city. Would definitely recommend this little boutique hotel.

We have just spent 4 nights at the Med Cezir. It is less than 5 minutes walk from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, yet on a traffic free and quiet street. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfy with a nice en-suite with shower. if anything it was too hot for us, so we were had to turn the heating down and openi the windows despite it being the end of October.

The ground floor restaurant serves really nice good value food, wine and coffee and frequent free tea. There are seats and tables outside on the street. Even at the end of October we ate every breakfast outside in the sun watching the world go by. Unusually for us we ended up having 3 evening meals in the hotel rather than going out exploring elsewhere.

Best of all was the hospitality and service. We have rarely been made to feel so welcome. On the first evening, hearing that we were interested in Turkish Music, we found ourselves playing a little music with the proprietor Erol and enjoying a rendition of a fabulous traditional song on the Saz. We were than lent the Saz for our stay! Such a great instrument.

Toni and the other staff were fantastically helpful and welcoming - there when you needed them and giving us space when we wanted time alone together. It was the first time we have been away without children in 18 years!

The hotel attracts a mixture of people of different ages, and nationalities, groups, families, couples and solos. Everyone we saw was welcomed and looked after very well.

We have no hesitation in recommending the Medcezir and hope to back again soon ourselves.

A smaller property on a side street with a very friendly staff. The basic rooms are very small, but clean. The one we had was a little worn. It's close to all the big tourist attractions and they serve a smallish but adequate breakfast. The coffee here was excellent.

We reserved this hotel on the advice of a friend who had been there. Rooms are small but clean, and the beds are comfy. It also includes a great little restaurant with sidewalk booths and good food--a Turkish breakfast was included. It's on a side street, so is fairly quiet except, of course, for the call to prayer which happens 5 times a day. Haunting, but you will miss it when you get back (it's now my ringtone). The best part, is that it's throwing distance from the Blue Mosque, shops, the Cistern, Hagia Sophia and restaurants. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and Orhan and Brooklyn Tony kept us entertained. They both speak English, as well as Erol, the owner, and they were all extremely helpful. This little hotel was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip. I miss my simits, Turkish coffee and raki!

Room Tip: We had room 6 on the second floor which was adequate for our needs.

We were on a cruise and stopped off in Istanbul. After a long day sightseeing, we wanted to relax with a cool beer, somewhere near the Blue Mosque. We found the right place at the Med Cezir Hotel Bar. Close to the blue Mosque, we met friendly staff and had a very relaxing break before returning to the ship, 'Celebrity Reflection.

Room Tip: We just had a few beers at the bar.....Great
