“Hard to beat this place”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

We just left this B&B yesterday after 5 nights. İt is just as most everyone has said - a great place to stay in Istanbul: very good value, friendly, clean, excellent location....Sadık, Tony, Auron and Nellie are all very pleasant, helpful folk - and indeed you feel like friends after a very short time. A Turkish breakfast is included in the price of your room as well as coffee, tea or apple tea anytıme. The view from the rooftop is amazing. A few cautions: bring bath soap (not provided), our shower didn't drain all that well and the public internet is a bit antiquainted. BUT picky, picky points ın an otherwise super establishment.

Room Tip: A second floor room is actually third floor to us North Americans. A shared bathroom works just fine...

My husband, my four month old baby and I spent nine days at Med Cezir. I was nervous about spending such a long time away from home with a small baby but everything was perfect. All the staff were always friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the location cannot be beaten (right in the heart of sultanhamed!). I hope we get to go back to Istanbul soon and enjoy another wonderful stay at Med Cezir!

Almost all the historical places in Sultanahmet Area are walkable. Aya Sofya, Blue Mosque & Topkapi Palace are just around the corner. Sultanahmet Tram station just few minutes walk. Good food everywhere. Fantastic view of Aya Sofya and Blue Mosque from the terrace especially at night. Make sure you bring a tripod. This is a great value for money and people are great. Speaks good English too. Overall, me and my friend had a wonderful stay in the hotel. - April & Lucel

We had in advertently booked a hotel several kilometres away from the Sultanahmet which is where we wanted to visit during our trip to Istanbul. Hussein of the New Deal Travel Agency was brilliant. He helped us a great deal, recommended this hotel and booked it for us. Medcezir Hotel is low medium price range [we paid 55 euros per night inclusive of breakfast] and stands close to the Blue Mosque. Rooms are bright and airy; beds large and comfortable. There are tea and coffee making facilities in your room and a leafy terrace on which to relax. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which serves excellent Turkish breakfasts as well as lunches and evening meals. We were so comfortable and well looked after there that it was a real effort to leave and we will return next year. Thank you to the Medcezir for making us so welcome.
Thank you too to Hussein of New Deal Travel Agency who helped us in so many ways.

Room Tip: Go and see Hussein at the New Deal Travel Agency and ask his advice en suite rooms cost quite a bit...

Bleery-eyed from a 12 hour flight, I staggered up the the Med Cezir's deck and stood in stunned silence at the Blue Mosque and Haghia Sophia a block and a half away. The location of this little gem could not be better (across the street from the Four Season but in contrast this is a modest, unpretentious bargain). It is a short walk to everything or you can sit at a table in front and have the world wash by. Small, with only 9 rooms, your fellow guests will be interesting young people or us more adventurous older folks. But what makes this so special are the terrific staff, Sadik and Tony especially but also the behind-the scene help. They are attentive and helpful and great fun. We were overwhielmed by the beauty of Turkey but equally so by the people highlighted by the Med Cezir were t felt like we were staying in a most welcoming home. Highly recommended.
