This beautiful small hotel is excellent. The location is perfect for the historical attractions of Istanbul. The view from the roof terrace restaurant over the Boshborus is terrific and there i a little mosque besides to remind where you are. The staff is very very kind and helpful.

It was tested as a street dog bit me on the leg. They helped me to reach the right trestment at public hospital where they have the best know-how for the unfortuned incidents.

A dog bite is not common ib Istanbul, but carry SOAP and water with you for the first aid. Soap is the best first aid agains rabies. Then you get vaccine in a hospital to save your live. Just be calm, it works 100%. If the dog has an ear tag, it is vaccined and the risk is minimal to get an infection. But if not, rabies is tackled if you get in to a vaccine procedure within a week from the bite.

Well, I want to thank Mazlum and the rest of the staff at the hotel for good care of me! You did everything I was hoping for - and more. Say hi and thanks for the taxi driver who served as a guide and translator in the non-English speaking hospital and farmacy.

So, I recommend anyone to choose Megara Palace while staying i Istanbul!

Cheers, Mikko from Finland

PS. Dear Mazlum and the rest of the staff, don't forget to recommend your customers to carry soap and water with them in Istanbul. It's more effective first aid in case of a dog bite than desinfection...

The location of this hotel is about great, right at the heart of historical Istanbul. It's a walking distance from Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and Sultanahmet. There are many restaurant around it so food is no issue at all.
If the weather is good, have your breakfast outdoor to enjoy your breathtaking view while filling up for the morning.
The room is small, once you have settled your luggages there is barely room to walk. The room was also not clean properly for a fact that I had dropped my small pillow on the floor but after cleaning the pillow was still there.
One thing for sure the staff really showed the Turkish hospilality, Mazlum aka Mr Postman, Mehmet and Çan were always ready to lend a helping hand, always smiling and we can feel the sincerity. They even remember us when we returned to the hotel a few days later after our trip out of Istanbul. We even met the owner of the hotel and he was humble; showing us his room and drawings. They made our stay felt like home.

Stayed here recently for four nights and booked the nicest room they had on the fourth floor. The room had an incredible terrace overlooking the Sea of Marmara and to the left, Topkapi Palace and the Bosphorus strait. The room was good, and the staff were great. The location was about 100 meters from the entrance to Topkapi palace and just minutes to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia and the Bailica Cistern. You can definitely beat the crowds to the palace by arriving a little before they open. The breakfast was great, and had enough options to mix it up every morning. One issue we had with the hotel were that they advertised a spa bathtub in the room, and we confirmed this two more times before we stayed just to make sure, and when we arrived, we realized this wasn't the case. Only a shower, and it was kind of tight. The only other issue we experienced was that they didn't put toilet paper or soap in the room when they cleaned it, so we had to bother the front desk for these things every day when we returned to the room. In comparison to the benefits of this hotel, these issues were very minor, and I would definitely stay here again, just to see the sun rise over the Sea of Marmara from our terrace. I would also recommend to people considering this hotel.

Room Tip: I think we stayed in room 402, and it had a great terrace and a beautiful view.

This hotel was chosen by Mediterra Tours. We stayed there 4 nights. The location is GREAT, and the staff is extremely friendly. I liked the full Turkish breakfast, and enjoyed going to the rooftop for wine in the early evenings. Their dinner menu is very limited.

The hotel was located in the heart of historical Istanbul. The staff was very friendly; especially I want to mention Mazlum, who was very helpful in every occasion. The only problem, he couldn´t help, was little rain. =) Breakfast buffet on the roof restaurant with the fantastic panorama to the sea was the perfect place to start a nice day in Istanbul. The athmosphere in the hotel was very familiar.

The hotel was very clean and in a great location close to a number of tourist sites such as the Blue Mosque and the Ayasofya. The view from the terrace is fantastic, especially when it is sunny or at night and this terrace is a lovely place to enjoy the authentic, wide-ranging breakfast. The room was a fine size as we did not spend much time in there, however the room was also very warm. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!
