Megara Palace Hotel is located perfectly in the old city centre. The hotel street is quiet. However plenty of the main attractions and nice restaurants are nearby and easily available by foot.

Hotel rooms are quite small as they typically are in hotels renovated in old apartment buildings. The ambience is sympathetic.

The hotel restaurant is located on the top terasse. The view over other buildings and over the sea is dazzling.

Hotel personal service was very kind.

We recommend Megara Palace Hotel.

This was my first trip to Istanbul and upon arrival we received nothing but excellent service. Mehmet and the rest of the staff were friendly, helped us arrange day trips etc. The hotel is in an excellent location - near to all the top sights. Breakfast was lovely. Definitely will return !!

Wonderful hotel for intelligent people - truly extraordinary, the location and services are amazing for this price. The staff are always kindly ready to help with any problem (administrator Mekhmet, especially). The hotel's owner is the well-known painter in Turkey, you can see his works on the walls around and buy some in the shop nearly located. I enthusiastically recommend Megara Palace to everybody who really wants to feel something special about this great city walking around old places or looking at Marmara see on evenings from your balcony. Good luck! Professor John Chkareuli (Georgia)

Room Tip: Rooms at the top floor are best

I was given a room with a single twin bed, no window - only an opening under outside stairs. No shower curtain, dirty bathroom, hardly any room to maneuver in the room. Not recommended.! I am attaching photos for review. The location is great I must say. If you make sure you get what you pay for, it may be well worth it.

I was pleased to stay at this hotel. It is 850 ft from the Hagia Sofia, an excellent spot! The breakfast was nice & tasty, with good hours. The staff were very friendly. They gladly took bags to the room. They were helpful and enjoyed conversation. The rooms were small but adequate. The restaurant has an excellent view nd live entertainment. The A/C worked and kept the room very cool

Room Tip: Pick a room on the lower floors. There's no lift!
