“pleasant stay”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
There has to be mentioned, that the hotel is not for disabled and elder persons, as the breakfast room is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. The breakfast was nice and the staff also very helpful.
The TV was working but we didn't receive a german channel.
We had the no. 1 room beside the reception. It was a nice room with a big terrasse. Unfortunately this room wasn't high up so we had a fence at the front. There has also to be mentioned that the train is passing infront of the hotel aswell as a big road. It is a little bit noisy but you get quickly used to it.
Even so we would recommend this hotel as it is very close to all the attractions.

Room Tip: higher floors have a better view. room 1 and 2 are on the ground floor.

Nicely situated a few minutes walk from the big mosques and the old citycenter, although in a quiet and peaceful street. Several good restaurants in the street. Taxi station 50 meters away or you do as the inhabitants: take the tramway to Sultanahmed stop and walk 15 minutes from there. Room nice and tidy with shower/toilet. Very nice and helpful staff. Nice breakfast terrace overlooking the Marmara sea. Only drawback: the old Orient Express train tracks only 20 meters from the backside of the hotel. Advice: see that you get a room towards the street.

This hotel is great!

location- perfect. walking distance to all of istanbuls main tourist attractions and transportation
staff- super friendly and knowledgeable and good english. next door to a takeaway shop (expensive but tasty), in a safe and well lit street.
rooms- myself and 2 others stayed in room 16 in block A. i would highly recommend this room to any future guests. it is the only room on the top floor (shared with the kitchen). esentially you have the whole top floor to yourself with a balcony with a picturesque view. the only issues with this room is, the bathroom can get a damp smell to it after a while and the noise from breakfast at 8am.
breakfast- vast selection. though the only hot food available were sausages and potatoes

highly recommended!

Room Tip: block a room 16 is the best room!

we are on our way from Germany and Austria to New Zealand by bicycle. we usually sleep in our tent but in cities camping is not recommended. we stay in better hotels up to four stars with a good WiFi access, because we want to update our reports on facebook and blogspot. a safe place for our bikes is very important, too. this hotel is small, but excellent. we spent nine nights due to our visa for UZ and KGZ and every day was worth. extreme friendly and flexible staff, delicious breakfast clean rooms and short distances to the Blue Mosch, Hagia Sofia and tram.WiFi for free.

Our first night here was a disaster-- we had a room in the A block on the ground floor next to the train tracks. Terrible!!! We only slept for 3 hours. Trains going all night, music from the adjacent restaurant until midnight, and noise from the reception area outside the door. The second night they moved us to a room facing the front in B block that was great. Unfortunately, they refused to give us that room the third night and we had a noisy room in the back facing the street with a lot of traffic, with sirens and other noises. If you want a quiet place to sleep, there appears to be only 2 rooms here that will be ok. One other thing we didn't like was that there is no blanket, but a rough cover. We had to ask for a top sheet every night, which they did bring us. Not sure why they offer such an uncomfortable sheet.

Room Tip: Only the two rooms facing front in Block B are worth it, If you can;t get one of those, stay elsewhe...

Thank you for your brief comments which are very helpful for us to give a better service to the future guests. The train truck is located beneath the hotel down to a slobe which surrounds the Old City from the sea side. Indeed, that is the route of famous Orient Express which will be going under renovation within a very short time. All the hotels located on the same line having the similiar issue, but we have aplied any possible measure against the noise. We have double glazed windows at all rooms and air-conditioning to allow our guests keeping their windows closed. We rarely receive complaints about the train noise, but some people are more sensitive with the noise issue. We shall also point out that only a few rooms facing to the train line, whereas all others looking over a quite street. We definetly provide rooms from the front facade of the builing upon their prior request during booking.

We were a family of 14 and stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. We enjoyed the great view of the Bosphorus straight from our rooms. The hotel is in a great location in the historical Sultanahmet within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. The hotel staffs were very polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and good size with good air conditioning systems. The only downside was the train passing in the vicinity of the hotel making loud noise. If the windows were kept closed it would not be a big deal though. The breakfast table was rich and the dining area had a great sea view as well as the balcony with the city view, Overall, we had a great time there and really enjoyed it and felt like home while staying there. Thanks to the management and all the staffs!

Room Tip: Highly family-friendly hotel!
