Pros: It was a clean place, the rooms were not too big, not too small (but you don't spend time in your room), the bathroom was nice and clean with all amenities, it had a small balcony, A/C, it had a very nice breakfast, and nice and polite staff.
Cons: It is closed to the railway but you really don't hear the train excepting in the morning when is time to get up, and the prices for a room with the Marmara see (where the railway was) were a little more than they should be.
The hotel had very nice tours, but I would not take the Bosporus tour as you can do it on your own.

Room Tip: Marmara view room is noizy.

the rate was cheaper than some other hotels and we were apprehensive about the hotel conditions. But it had some good tripadvisor feedback which made me book the hotel. The room was small but sufficient for two of us. The bathroom was nice and clean. They had a sign in the room requesting us to use the AC only between July and September. It was june but we felt hot so we used it awyways.
The breakfast was okay. not the best. On the first morning, we went for a late breakfast at 10 (the breakfast time is 8-10:30). Though we were 30 minutes the and of breakfast time, some of the food had already finished. My wife was a little upset about it, but the kitchen maid were friendly and informal and made some items again. They could do with some selecton of cold meat (sausages, salamis) in the breakfast.
Not sure how the sea view rooms are, but the top floor sea view room has balconies with low ceilings.
They also have wi-fi service and computer in the adjacent sister hotel (Deniz A) can be used.
Overall, not a bad experience and good value.

I liked Deniz houses ..its a simple, yet comfortable and friendly place.. I had a very pleasant stay. There was always soneone I could ask for advice, my double room for single use was comfortable and clean, and had a quite spacious and clean bathroom....and a big window to the sea!
Breakfast was georgious- 5 kinds of olives, several kinds of white cheese, bread, butter honey confitures, fruits and cookies.....and eating on the roof looking at the Hagia Sophia..and the sea...made breakfast a special experience.
Location is very good: In walking distance are f.ex.the blue mosque, a smaller and a big bazar, many restaurrants and coffeeplaces...and a tramway- all a tourist needs....
As I prefer small hotels with atmosphere to big hotels this was just the place for me..and I will surely be back!

Deniz Hotel is a great hotel in the tourist quarter of town. It's a short walk to the main attractions, such as the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, Aya Sofya, etc. At night there's not very much to do around Sultanahmet, however, and prices for food and drinks are inflated. I would recommend the Taksim area if you'd rather be closer to a more bustling, hip and busy part of town.

Deniz Hotel has two buildings, and I stayed in the 'B' building. I don't think there's a difference in quality, and the 'B' building is a couple doors down from the main one. The rooftop terrace is a bit small, but has good views. Breakfast was simple, but adequate. The room was clean, comfortable and relatively roomy. The front door and door to the bathroom were a little hard to close and get locked. I had to put a lot of my weight into it just to get the door locked. The shower stall in the leaked water like crazy onto the bathroom floor, but was otherwise clean. The walls are a little thin, but not as bad as other reviewers have suggested. You could definitely hear some noise, especially from cleaning crew in hallway, but not so much from other rooms.

Overall it was a great place to stay. Definitely take a map and a business card from this place the first night or so, because it's easy to get lost. Location is good for sight seeing, but not for night life. If you're looking for a good, simple place in Sultanahmet, this is a good choice.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view and specify non-basement room

Excellent service and value for money. The principal staff, Kerem, Ayten and Murife, were unfailingly helpful. Delicious and copious breakfast buffet. The roof terrace of the sister hotel nearby (Sultan's Inn) provides coffee, tea and snacks every evening after 5. Internet service is also available at that hotel. Small refrigerator in room. Location is excellent for both the main sights in the Sultanahmet area, the waterfront park and access to the tram. However, be aware that there is no elevator and breakfast is served on the top floor, so there are many stairs to climb. Also the railway line runs below the hotel so trains pass at intervals, though not at night. This did not bother me at all. The weekly outdoor market nearby takes place on Wednesdays.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking Sea of Marmara are the best.

The hotel manager is very friendly and eager to make the stay a positive memory. The breakfast buffet was very nice, everything freshly prepared, the view from the top floor, on which breakfast is served is awesome - and the floor is accessible the whole day!

I can't speak too highly of this establishment. Rooms are spacious and immaculate, good mattresses and bed linen, nice ungarish decor, good bathroom, good wifi signal, great breakfast, excellent terrace, professional staff, unbeatable location. We stayed a week previously at the more expensive Niles hotel (75 euros instead of 50), and actually preferred this place.
