“Great place for a citytrip to Istanbul”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

We were here mid-September for a week and enjoyed our stay very much. The beginning seemed dodgy, because we were told we couldn't enter our room due to electrical troubles. After a complimentary drink, we were put up in a hotel around the corner and promised an upgrade to a suite the next morning. And so it happened, after breakfast we got a really nice room, with a jacuzzi and everything, accompanied by a thousand apologies for the inconvenience.
And then the whole week the service was really great, friendly and attentive staff, good cleaners, great breakfast (lots of fruits!). The location is awesome, right in the middle of things, with a lot of sights within walking distance. It can get a bit noisy, with dinner guests talking till late in the street below, but it was never really a problem. And that's what you get when you're staying in the hub of things, right? And all this for a really good price :-)

We would definitely recommend staying here.

I went there at the end of european summer (last week of september) but found a perfect weather to stay at open air and walk; you can even take a bath at Prince Islands if you like! the hotel is friendly but professional runned by young staff; they offer a full breackfast that can give you plenty of energy to go on tour all day long; even the temptations of typical turkish food are surrounding you everywhere...
the place is in the old area of the city, 2 minutes from Sirkeci tram stop and trains gare, 5 to Sultanhamet place. So, you can be near all attractions at once. Even if the area offers other stay chances, I found this one the most convenient one, and I suggest it to first time visitors.

The hotel is ideally situated a few minutes' walk from Hagia Sophia, The Blue Mosque, the New Mosque and the Spice Bazaar plus the ferry terminal (get a ferry to Asia for lunch!). The Grand Bazaar is about 10-15 minutes walk and the trams stops are also very close.

The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and my single room was a decent size too. The help yourself breakfast buffet was also really good with plenty of choice and it was a real pleasure to sit outside the hotel to eat breakfast or dinner. Both Hotel Agan and the restaurant across the street had a very tasty and good value vegetarian menu. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: I liked my room overlooking the street but I did hear the call to prayer very loudly at 5.30am (you...

This could not be located better for major sites , trams and quay side for boats are all a short distance away. It's in a pedestrianised area with great restaurants etc nearby.
As it is in city centre and is a small hotel you do get some noise from street, terraces at night but this doesn't go on very late. It wasn't a problem for us but might be if you go to bed early and need peace and quiet.
Some bedrooms are very small (501) but staff moved us to 302 which was mire spacious . However they have everything you need including hairdryers.
Breakfast is mostly taken outside and is a wide choice of breads ,cheese, meats ,fruits ,cereals etc and makes a substantial start to the day.
This is a good value hotel in a great location with helpful staff. However any city centre small hotel will always have some noise at nights when there are restaurants outside and on terraces.

Stayed here start of sept with a pal. Room was quite small to house 2 suitcases so we were falling all over the place. Then came the breakfast troubles. We didnt like what was on the B+B offering so we tried to order our own and pay for it,,,and we were told the chef was not available until after 11am/12am! So we just ate breakfast elsewhere. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Also the beds were like bricks !
