We stayed there for 3 nights during our trip to Turkey arranged by Ture Blue Tours. It was a wonderful experience. All the staff was very respectful. attentive, friendly and welcoming. They had great buffet breakfast in the morning and had complimentary wine and cheese testing on the weekends. They also had complimentary water, tea, coffee and snacks available all day in the lounge area. It is ideally located close to Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Our room was very clean, nicely decorated and very spacious. Would love to stay there again.

Garden House! This is the place to stay and discover Istanbul. The high lights like Hagia Sophia, The Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace are at walking distance. The Hotel is comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean. We had room 204 which was very quiet and had a blacony to the garden. All staff members are friendly, caring and always helpful. The receptionists are competent, quick and friendly. The breakfast buffet offers you beside the usual "western" things, a wide range of fruit, delicious Turkish dishes and homemade cookies. Not to forget the "Egg woman" who will make you an omelett according to your wishes. In the breakfastroom Nino has her eyes everywhere and is there to help you whenever you only think you might need help. When in the afternoon you need a little rest, the garden area awaits you with tea and coffee and cookies for free. Summing up: The Garden Hotel is a very nice hotel. My husband and I spent 7 nights there and are sure to come back.

We were referred here by a friend and loved the hotel and our room. We had booked an economy garden room and were upgraded at no charge to a 5th floor walk-up which was perfect for us. Great location in the heart of the old city within easy walking distance to most of the sights, super-friendly and helpful staff, great breakfasts, lovely outdoor dining area. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Turkey, as part of which we were in Istanbul for 4 nights. We stayed at the Garden House all four nights and i can vouch for how awesome this hotel is, irrespective of the kind of traveler you are. Tucked away in one of the steep roads in the Sultanahmet area, it is probably THE best location if you want to get a flavor of the old city. The main attractions (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Hippodrome) and public transportation (tram) are all a short walk (5 mins) away.

The rooms themselves are really cozy, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was just the nicest i have experienced outside of 5 star hotels. The front desk guys- Faris and Bora were really sweet and helpful with every painful query of ours. On top of that, the bell hop, Fatih was the most sincere hard working guy out there. Not once did he let us touch our luggage on his watch.

The breakfast was really fresh and authentic Turkish cuisine, and the room service is not too shabby either- especially with the 20% discount on the night of arrival.

There is tons of beautiful roof top dining options close by in the area - check out Hotel Daphne, Hotel Vaha for a stunning panoramic view of the city.

I would resoundingly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for suggestions for places to stay in Istanbul.

+ Beds are big and comfy, connected rooms (family) are very convenient when traveling with children, location is pretty good (5 minutes to Sultanahmet square), staff is very friendly (especially bartenders), complementary wine was great.

- The bathroom is a disaster, do not use slippers or you'll break something, cigarette and sewage smell in room number 102, it is not dark enough to sleep (curtains are thin), one day there were no tables to seat during the breakfast and the girl from the staff were not polite enough to ask us come back in 5 minutes (is in it logical?), so we were standing there and waiting while somebody finished. Even if they know that there are a lot of people going to have breakfast (I suppose it is not a brain surgery to analyze morning traffic in the restaurant :) ) they do not wisely manage tables, and while three of us were standing and waiting, some tables for 4 people were occupied by 1-2 people.

Room Tip: Beware of ground floor. It might be dangerous for kids (slippery).
