“Well worth seeking out”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

Pell's was a real find. We stumbled upon it as we ambled through Cukurcuma. Pelin does a fab range of great coffee, fab cakes (yummies she calls them) and wicked cocktails. Not many tables so you may need to do a bit of shopping until one comes available. It's well worth the wait.
And Pelin is brilliant - fantastic service as well as delivering great food & coffee - and excellent music. Slightly off the beaten track but well worth seeking out.

“A little gem off the beaten track”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

If you fancy a coffee stop in a small trendy cafe with carrot cake, home made alcohol free cocktails and a charming friendly welcome, then this is it. Plus a good line in music too.....I wasn't expecting to hear Bauhaus in Istanbul! It's behind and down from the Istikal Avenue in the fashionable quirky antiquey Cukurcuma district but a good diversion for an hour or so from the main streets. It might be full but give it a try it's well worth finding especially if you like organic home cooked food. The ham sandwich was lovely!

“Authentically friendly”
Reviewed May 1, 2014 via mobile

It was one of the few places open on the holiday so we gave it a try. An excellent find. It's on a great up and coming street.
Many of the people there were tourists but it didn't feel touristy at all. The proprietor spoke decent English and was very friendly.
Both our meals were very good. I had Turkish sausage with stewed tomatoes and peppers. My wife had (see photo) Turkish pancake with spinach. The latter was excellent. And a very good Turkish coffee.
A great find.
