“Really a grand bazar”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

Its good to see so many shops of different items like garments, leather goods, jewellery, carpets, pottery and so forth. It takes awhile to see it completely as it probably has more than three thousand shops. Though quite expensive with regards to shopping but offers few unique items to purchase. Its worth a visit especially when combined with some other place to visit in Sultanahmet district.

“great atmosphere!”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

i loved the myriad passages and arched ceilings, the busy negotiations, and the occassional 'unique find'. Packed with many of the same commodities with a variety of quality; one must pay attention! Not being a big shopper, i was captivated more by the atmosphere and the interactions taking place, while greatly appreaciating the beauty of the structure. A must see- at least once or twice!

“Spend your time somewhere else”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

It is nothing special. We were disappointed when we came here, so we made a quick round. All the shops are basically the same and there is nothing worth to buy. If you are just in a short visit to Istanbul, spend your time somewhere else, don't lose it here.
Near the Kapali Carsi there is a shopping mall called Morava where you can buy great leather jackets.
