I have visited this Park twice this year. I was lucky enough to see it in Spring. At this time it was a beautiful area blanketed in a colourful array of flowers. This was predominantly tulips and there were a number of artistic displays including raised ramps. Adding the water features and fountains it was a lovely place to relax and spend time. I returned in July and was disappointed to find that there were few floral displays and the fountains were not switched on. It is still a quiet oasis within a bustling city but it is a pity that the feast of floral displays is not continued through the summer months.

I had a very nice feelings about this place but perhaps its overlooked. As I entered the place it did not give any impression of a good place. I could not go further after walking half a kilometre in to this place and came out with a bad feelings. I think the place is good but overlooked and is not maintained as it should be. The beautiful tall trees and calm and peace of the place indicate it to be a good resting place.

Just round the corner from the HotelLino and Can Cafe
Gulhane Park is the place to walk for quiet time although it is very popular. At one end it overlooks the Bosphorus and Asia, take a tea or coffee and relax. Gulhane park is also a short cut to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Place or Hagia Sophia bypassing some of the many shops

Take the tram to gulhane, bring a blanket, a book and some water and enjoy a couple of hours in green sorroundings. Be aware -as a woman, that you are Not allowed to Sun-bath in hotpants/bikini-pants. You must wear shorts or skirt thatcovers the inner thighs.
