OK Folks, you're in Turkey, gateway to the Middle East next to Iraq Syria and Azerbajan, they aren't supposed to speak English like you were in a Holiday Inn in Chicago or smile at you like a London school girl. This is a different part of the world, people act differently. Some local friends made arrangements for me to stay at Hotel Suadiye. Reading the Trip Advisor made me quite wary but I do trust my friends and had little choice anyway. Because of the mixed reviews, I was very observant. This is a very nice hotel, great location, clean modern well kept. The staff is friendly and tries very hard. The rooms are veery nice and all of my middle American requirements were fulfilled. Yes, not everyone speaks English, but there is always someone around that does. The ladies in the restaurant go about their busineess quite efficiently without the smiles and eye contact taught at the Cheesecake Factory. Once again, you are in Turkey. Everyone had a great attitude and seemed to want to meet whateve your need. The bar on the roof has such a magnificent view and ambiance that you will forget to notice if there is any servce at all. I only sat at the bar and the service was fine, but what a beautiful place. So if the location on the Asian side is good for you, Hotel Suadiye is a great choce. And remember people this is Turkey, not middle eastern Illinois. They aren't supposed to speak English or act like they were trained by Disney. If you want that, go to Orlando.
