There are two great things about this Hotel: the breakfast buffet and the view from the bar situated at the top floor. On the negative side, the size of the bathroom (I´d say 3x5ft). The room we stayed in (no. 606) isn´t big, by any means, but we had enough space for our luggage, so I guess it´s OK. Complimentary wine bottle and chocolate covered strawberries were a nice touch on arrival. Closeness to subway and funicular isn´t really very important as they are not interconnected and you have to pay a new fare when you change trains, buses, etc. I found taxis are pretty cheap in Istambul when compared to the final cost of taking several other means of tranportation (just make sure they turn on the meter, even when traffic is heavy - beware of drivers that propose a fixed price for the ride - one was going to charge me 85 LT for a 25 LTworth ride). After 4 days of Istambul I did not reach a conclusion as to the best area where to stay. On my next visit I will probably try another part of town.
