Followed our guide book and took a hike up the park. Was very serene and peaceful, but loads of dogs around the park. However, I was really glad they did not bother us in any way, they seem to enjoy the sun and peacefulness of the area as well.

Quite a hike, so good walking shoes are a must. Did not stop by for a cuppa at the Malta chalet, but it does have good views over the Bosphorous from very high up. You would need to pay for entry for one of the pavillions, 10 TL and no photos are permitted. Beware of vehicles that seem to drive through the park with very high speed...

Nice old cafe in an old building, nice walking track etc. The park is set on a hill, so you can follow a multi angle walking track.

While you’re visiting Istanbul, I recommend that you visit Yildiz Park if you have some extra time! It’s a very nice big park that is very big, green and clean however it is not a protected park so be careful around animals! Also Yildiz Park has a very good location and has very easy access by bus, dolmus, by taxi and of course by car. I recommend that you go to the park on a weekday rather than a weekend because weekends tend to be crowded. Also I recommend that you go on park grounds with your car because it is faster and you can park your car anywhere when you want to get out. Of course you could also walk but young children will get tired but it’s great for exercising! Yildiz Park is also a very nice place to go for a picnic but be careful around dogs.

Yildiz Park has many old Ottoman pavilions and while you’re in the park, I recommend that you visit them! We visited the Malta Pavillion and the outside and inside were very beautiful. However we ordered food there and we had to wait for 40 minutes for one chocolate cake! After we found out why they delayed so long; it turns out that our waiter got our order, went on her lunch break and forgot to tell what we ordered to the kitchen! However that was the only negative part during our visit.

Yildiz Park also has a very nice porcelain factory and museum called Yildiz Porcelain! I really recommend that you visit there because they have beautiful porcelain! The factory tour isn’t open everyday so make sure to check on their website for their opening and closing times and dates. Also make sure that you visit their shop and buy a replica porcelain dish that the sultan’s used to use!

Overall, I really recommend that you visit Yildiz Park while you’re in Istanbul because you’ll never forget it! Also, while you’re there make sure to visit Ortaköy as it is very close to the park!

Malta Pavillion has a wonderful bosphorus scenery over the trees. Cadır Pavillion has a nice garden and food. The Park itself is so relaxing.

We were lucky enough to see the park during the Tulip festival, and although the entire park hadn't received it's spring makeover, it was gorgeous to sit back and enjoy the few. And in case you get thirsty there are a few cafe's with a wide menu selection.

This park makes for great pictures.
