I came across this museum in the Istanbul forum, and was happy about the recommendation when we found ourself in Sarayer. We got off a Bosphorus ferry boat earlier then expected, as it was really cold and we felt we've had enough ferry experience. The Sadberk Hanim has an interesting collection of archeological findings, dating from 7000 BC or so, as well as a floor dedicated to a unique Ottoman embroidery collection. In order to get there, you need to turn left as you leave the ferry docks and walk about 1-1.2 km ( a bit less then a mile) 'till you see it across the street. The ticket is 20 tl and if you have a museumcart (which you should) you get a 59% dicount). I would not travel to Sarayer just for this museum, but if you get there it's worth it.
