I arrived in this place by chance, in a cold late afternoon.. a cozy athmosphere, delicious hand made cakes, hot drinks... and super nice owners! Definitely a good place to relax!

We only had 1 day in Istanbul - and we included this cute little cafe as the last stop on our itinerary (based on all the great reviews on Trip Advisor). So glad we did. We spent our last hour in Istanbul enjoying the best coffee, tea and halva ever! Plus - the decor in the cafe itself was so cozy - vintage memorabilia from the owner's grandmother! And the owner and his aunt were the friendliest people you'll ever meet. When we talk about our visit to Istanbul, the Velvet Cafe is the first place we recommend.

We have discovered this cafe through the friend's recommendation and thank to him, even it seems as a small cafe they made everything for the guests to feel them like at home, one of the best cookies i have ever tasted and the owner of the place Mr. Yuksel shows the details how to be succesfull in the hospitality business, and from that day this small cafe is the part of our life.

This charming little cafe is a must-visit if you are in the Galata area! The homemade lemonade was amazing, and the helvah was fantastic. The service was a little slow, we had to remind the servers a few times of certain items that we had ordered but had never received.
