“Great place to stay in Istanbul”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

We had a very enjoyable stay in Hotel Peninsula. The room is kept very clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel is excellent as it is close to all the places of interest, restaurants and the tram. The top balcony has a beautiful view of the Bosphorus especially at night. Breakfast is good. We will certainly return to this hotel if we visit Istanbul again in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for the room on the top floor as it has a fantastic view of the Bosphorus through the bedroom w...

This hotel's best feature is it's location. We were within a 3 minute walk to the Ayasofia, Blue Mosque and many other outstanding attractions that are must do's in Istanbul. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The rooms are simple and comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor room. There are no elevators.

A decent enough option near the bustling main drag of Sultanahmet and although it's noisy until midnight, most of the bars and eateries shut down after that. As an area, the old town is perfect for sightseeing but getting around the city from there can help one deliver an Odysseus syndrome. The breakfast is passable with good crusty rolls but the synthetic meat isn't a highlight and the plums were tired. Not a bad option but the non acceptance of cards was a pain, necessitating a dash to the nearest ATM.

This is a small and intimate hotel with great rooms and on a good budget! The hotel is on a road parallel to the main sites (a 2-3 min walk away) of the Aya Sofya, Blue Mosque and Topkapi, not to mention a walking distance from all the main site of old Istanbul. Zeki at the desk is great for a conversation and helpful with many great tips. He arranged two trips for me, one to Bursa and the other a guided tour of Dolmabahche and Topkapi. The rooms of the hotel are very nice and clean. There are also a number of nice restaurants a stones throw away. They have breakfast included with the room however. I had an awesome time in Istanbul, thanks to the hotel! Will be back God willing for a tour of the interior of Turkey!

I would highly recommend this hotel regardless of if you are going to stay in Istanbul just for a couple of days or longer. The booking and all other communication with this hotel, especially with Zeki Tasdemir, were very smooth, cordial and very professional. We were very satisfied and were convinced that we picked a very good hotel. Seeing this hotel, its location and hospitality exceed all our expectations. The location is absolutely great with quick access to all major sites on foot in a just few minutes. The breakfasts and the service are gorgeous and memorable. The terrace view is beautiful. Zeki's recommendations what to visit and where are the best places to eat are right on the target.
Our stay in Istanbul is unforgettable. Certainly Hotel Peninsula contributed a very big part in it. Coming back and staying in this hotel will be like meeting the old friends again. And, yes, we will come back.
