“Good choice for city break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

A bit late in getting round to writing this review but better late than never! Stayed at the Asur in September 12 for 4 nights. Wanted a hotel central for main attractions and this is absolutely what we got in this magnificent city! A small tourist hotel at a very good price that provides all that you would need. Reception staff very helpful and friendly, good breakfast, clean comfortable rooms, hot water and as already said in a fantastic location. Don't expect 4 star when your not paying 4 star prices, this is a small tourist hotel that fits the bill perfectly. There's a lot of comments on this site about the "windowless room" Well it isn't. It has a window that opens and shuts and yes it doesn't a view as such as it looks out onto a very small space between buildings. But really this doesn't matter. There are no real "views" at a this hotel anyway - the front rooms of the hotel look down onto a very narrow pedestrian street with restaurants, so really your not missing much. We found our "windowless' room absolutely fine, nice and quiet and good air-con and yes, natural light! Honestly, there is so much to see in Istanbul that the lack of a proper view does not matter cos by the time you get back to your room after a full day of sights you really won't be bothered about not seeing the Bosphorous out of your window even if you could! Would definitely return.

I travel a lot and this tour to Turkey I took with my mother and my sister (Sept.2012). Asur is a very good hotel and the best is the staff: professional and very helpful. They do everything to make sure you are ok. Good breakfast and great location - something always to remember when booking a hotel. I recommend it and definitely will come back to Asur.

Great location; breakfast well presented and plentiful; rooms are clean: staff helpful and professional. Much might depend on which room you are allocated. Apparently, some, including ours, have no real window. Beyond the glass there is only a ventilation shaft. The bathroom was small and a bit shabby. Worst of all the shower was virtually inaccessible. How someone with a disability or lacking mobility would manage is beyond me. Other rooms do not have this problem it seems.

We stayed here for 6 nights.

The hotel is located within walking distance of all the highlights in the old city centre.
The hotel and the rooms are quiet. You don't hear the mosques.

There is plenty of choice for breakfast and the coffee machine produces pretty good coffee.

Staff is helpful and they are speaking English.
The room was clean, spacious and the beds were comfortable.

So IMO this hotel is really recommended.

Room Tip: The twin rooms are on the back (quiet) side of the hotel. But you can easily put the two beds togeth...

Although the room was simple we were very pleased to find that it was extremely quiet and the bed very comfortable. Also the shower was very good. It was clean and comfortable and the location is excellent. So close to Aya Sophia and the blue mosque. The breakfast was truly excellent as well. Ümut was on the front desk for our stay and he was extremely helpful as well as friendly. We had no complaints whatsoever.

Room Tip: We had a back room, and this ensured total peace and quiet. You couldn't even hear the temple ca...

This hotel is right at the heart of the Sultanahmet district within easy waking distance of all the major sights. It is set in a narrow road lined with eating places so there is no problem finding nice places to eat.The staff are very helpful and courteous.Breakfast is a fine buffet meal but beware - when they say breakfast finishes at 10, they mean it. All dishes are removed on the dot of 10 o clock, so you need to be eating by 9.30
The rooms are basic but clean - yes the bathrooms are a little tired and yes there is a little black mould on some of the grouting if you look carefully, but the towels are changed every day and the room cleaned every day.
I did not have a laptop with me, but wifi is available, and there is a computer in the lobby with free internet access.
They organised airport transfers for us at 14€/person each way, which I was happy to pay as we were arriving and leaving at unsocial hours.
I was very happy in this hotel

I stayed here for 5 nights, the staff went out of their way to be helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and breakfast catered for all tastes. Strongly recommended it is close to most of the main attractions and to public transport.

Room Tip: good size room, clean and comfortable
