We booked this hotel for our 4 night stay in Istanbul after reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor.

We were happy with the room, although the bathroom in particular was looking very tired, and the staff were very helpful on arrival. The location was excellent, just a couple of minutes walk to the tram station and very central for all the sight-seeing. Breakfast was good. However the whole experience was marred by the Management continually switching off the air-conditioning on the central controls.

We specifically chose a hotel with air conditioning, knowing how hot it gets in Istanbul and couldn't understand on the first night, why our room was so hot but the air conditioning appeared to be running. When it became unbearable at around 5.00 a.m.and my husband had been unable to sleep all night, he went down to Reception to find out what the problem was. He was told that there was a directive in place that the air conditioning was to be centrally switched off between certain hours so although the fans were running within the room and everything seemed to be working, there was no cold air circulating. This happened on several occasions and we put a formal written complaint into the Management but never received a response. We were disgusted at the obvious deceit. People have paid for air conditioning, the units in the room appear to be working but have been centrally switched off.

This was a great shame as everything else was fine but this would prevent us using this hotel in the future for our Istanbul trips. The Reception staff were helpful and did their best but the Management

There is nothing negative that I can say about this hotel and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a good base to explore the beautiful city of Istanbul. What really stood out for me was the service, it was exceptional, the reception really went out of their way to help you and they gave us some great recommendations. The breakfast was lovely and the room was nice considering the price that we paid. When we first arrived we wanted to change the room which they did straight away. The hotel is situated right in the centre near the sultanahmet, so it’s a fantastic location.

really nice hôtel, lovely staff especially Umut ; good situation near all the most important monuments ; tram station at 2 min by walk; a lot of restaurents around; you don't have to go far if you are tired after a long touristic day, don't forget the turkish cofee after a good meal ; if you want to be in the heart of the old town , it's really the place to be in Istunbul :)

This wonderful hotel truly became our home away from home in Istanbul. We kept coming back to it time and again after various tours and excursions around Turkey. We spent a total of 7 nights here during June and July 2012 and could not have had better service anywhere. The professional and efficient staff were invariably helpful, kind and courteous, going out of their way to help us send emails and faxes when our plans changed suddenly, organising taxis and airport shuttles, free baggage storage, etc. They even gave us a free room upgrade to a suite on our subsequent stays! The rooms are very comfortable and clean; the breakfast buffet is excellent (I especially loved the fresh watermelon!); there is computer access for those without their own ipad; all up this hotel is excellent value at a moderate price! The Asur's quiet side street location in busy Sultanahmet is also excellent: close to major attractions, choice restaurants, metro station, many interesting shops. I can't praise this hotel highly enough. Don't miss it! Top ratings from 2 grateful travellers from Tasmania, Australia.

I stayed two nights at the Asur Hotel with two other friends. We booked a triple room (three single beds) for approximately €60 per night.

I found the hotel to be good value for money, with its location in a nice street in the old town (Sultanahmet) and proximity to the main sights.

The hotel was clean, the room was sufficient and the staff were very friendly.

Due to laziness, we didn't manage to try the breakfast, even though it was included in the price.

One slightly bizarre feature of the room was the "bath", which was about half the length of a normal bathtub but with higher sides. You could use it as a bath if you sat up straight in it. Most people though prefer to shower, which you could do as normal by standing up. However, with the high sides of the tub, access was more difficult than normal and therefore I wouldn't recommend this room to travellers with any form of restricted movement.

That said, I recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a room for the night and value for money. There is so much to do in Istanbul that you won't be in your room or the hotel much anyway, so save some money and stay at the Asur Hotel!

I just got back from a 3 nite stay at the Asur Hotel in Istanbul. I really enjoyed its central location and its very helpful staff. My room was switched from a room with no real window....to one which did have one. It was much better that way. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom ,with deep tub, was just perfect to soak in after a day of long sightseeing. It was easy to get out of the hotel and walk to the old sections of Istanbul. The included breakfast suited me fine. Although the whole staff was good, a special thank you to Umut for helping me get my transfer back to the airport, and for just being friendly and polite.,

The hotel has a good location. 10 minutes walking time to the blue mosque and the main tourist spots and there are restaurants around the hotel. Since it's not located at the main street, you don't get disturbed by car noise. The hotel staff is very friendly. They even prepared sandwiches for us because we had to leave before breakfast. A very good option for a 2-3 night stay.
