“Great location, friendly welcome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2008

We were met at the airport - great in Istanbul's frantic traffic - and taken to this oasis of calm in the heart of the Old City. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast simple, but plentiful and the welcome was friendly and helpful. Just five minutes walk from the entrance to the Topkapi and less than ten minutes stroll from The Blue Mosque.

The Gulhane tram stop is perhaps five minutes walk down hill and there are dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance too. An ideal location for exploring Istanbul on foot and tram.

I stayed here for a week. The owner's nephew picked me up from the airport. They were wonderful hosts and really helpful. The owner was gracious and really helpful, whether it was making recommendations for how to spend my time or helping me navigate. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Istanbul, which can't come soon enough!

That was my 5th stay at the Zeynep, and for good reasons. Great establishment, carefully maintained, friendly helpful staff, immaculately clean, and an unbeatable location - a lovely oasis right at the center of everything. Felt just as it did the first time - a home in Istanbul.

I chose this hotel because of the reviews I've read in in TripAdvisor and it was really a great hotel. The best thing about this hotel is it's LOCATION. I rate it as an above average hotel putting in mind the room rate and the same level hotels. I strongly recommend this hotel if you don't already know your hotel in Istanbul.

Excellent stay at this hotel - extremely convenient location - everything within walking distance and a great view of Aya Sofia from the terrace. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very friendly cat (when it was awake!).

A great deal for the money. The hotel is really conveniently located; just steps from Saint Sophia. It's got a rooftop deck from which you have an amazing view of that spectacular building. They give you free breakfast, which, while not the most exciting thing you've ever had, really isn't bad. The rooms are small, but clean. You probably won't spend a ton of time there, though, so the lack of bells and whistles won't really bother you. Also, the hotel is on a pretty quiet street. People walk by at night, but I didn't experience much noise, certainly nothing to keep you awake. The best thing, though, is the location. You're in the heart of Sultanahmet, located close to tons of amazing sites.

We stayed at the Zeynep Sultan Hotel on our last night in Turkey. The hotel picked us up at the airport free of charge and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. Our rooms were on the first floor and as other previous reviewers have stated you could definitely hear a lot through the walls and we didn't get much light. However, that said, the water pressure was the best here out of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip to Turkey and everything was very clean.

The cradle of civilization...Turkey...From Hitites to Urartus, Phrygians to Lycians, from Romans to Seljuks...They all lived here. Zeynep Sultan Hotel is where you will blend a magical potion from a Roman hippodrome, an Egyptian obelisque, a Byzantine Church and an Ottoman Grand Bazaar.
