“Very friendly staff in fantastic location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2012

We were very satisfied with our four night stay at the Zeynep Sultan Hotel. The staff was very helpful in arranging a 5 euro airport transfer directly to/from the hotel without stops. The traditional Turkish breakfast spread on the outdoor/indoor deck each morning was great. The hotel is walking distance from the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. The room was comfortable and clean. I would advise not to eat dinner at the hotel. The menu is overpriced, and you can get great Turkish food at other restaurants only steps from the building. I would highly recommend staying at the Zeynep Sultan Hotel.

My husband and i stayed at the hotel for 1 week reccomended by trip advisor. The hotel is a lovely place, very friendly staff situated in the heart of where it is happening. The room was clean, towels changed daily if needed, air conditioning that worked and not a bad sized room. The rooftop terrace was lovely, the only negative about thehotel in my opinion would be the breakfast. It was very plain and boring. Apart from that we had a great time and would definately stay in the hotel again.

Room Tip: If you are a couple, ask for a twin room instead of a double as the room is bigger. The single beds...

We stayed in Zeynep Hotel for 5 nights at the beginning of June. Actually the hotel was recommended us by our friends who had stayed there before, so we decided to follow their advice.
The room was clean and tidy, air-conditioned and overlooking Aya Sophia. I’d say the room was quite small but you always need to remember how much money you pay. Zeynep Sultan Hotel is perfectly located to explore historical part of Istanbul, all tourist attractions are in a walking distance – Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topcapi Saray, Basilica Cistern, Galata Tower, etc.
There is a very nice terrace where you can enjoy Aya Sophia while having breakfast. Continental breakfast is absolutely fine – everything you need for breakfast: eggs, some ham & cheese, Turkish tea and coffee. I’d also recommend visiting the terrace in the evening time for those who’re looking for quiet and romantic place. There you can have some drinks and enjoy evening Istanbul.
All staff was great – very friendly and helpful, they gave us very good advises where and at what time better to go. It’s always better to ask someone who lives in Istanbul since they can show you another part of the city which is not mentioned in your guide book.
We definitely enjoyed staying in Zeynep Sultan Hotel and recommend all our friends to stay there if they’re planning to visit Istanbul.

The excellent location in the old quarter was outstanding, and up to the tram stop, there were only a few steps. The staff was always very friendly and so helpful.
At breakfast on the rooftop terrace with views of the Hagia Sophia was the eyes and palate
spoiled.
Our room was quiet and always very clean and well maintained.
The prize was fantastic . We enjoyed our week in Zeynep Sultan Hotel very much and would always book there again.

We stayed 4 nights.Even though I requested a room on upper floors when I made reservations such room was not available when we arrived. In all fairness they never guaranteed to me such room at the time of reservation.
So the first night we had to stay in room 101 on the garden level. Not a good room: windows are looking into a narrow private yard where staff is walking back and forth, so it is noisy in the morning and dark inside all the time.
For the other 3 nights we were moved to the room 301. This room is perfectly good, however it is not air-conditioned. It was not a problem for us since temperatures at night stayed in low 20's but it could spell trouble in July.
Hotel is clean, well maintained, breakfast is OK (continental + hot eggs), and location is near perfect, Staff speaks English and is friendly, Their ability to help varies - some are very knowledgeable and confident, others not so much.
All in all the hotel is good value for the money.

Me and my wife spent 3 nights in Zeynep Sultan Hotel.
The location of the hotel is perfect, on a quiet street just a very, very short walk from Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque.
The staff is speaking good English and they are very helpful and friendly.
The view of the Hagia Sofia from the terrace where the breakfast is served is perfect!
2 small issues: breakfast is poor, so just enjoy the view from the terrace and expect to eat less... The rooms are very clean, but a little bit too small. To enter the shower is quite a nice challenge for chubby people...
Considering the quality-price report for the small hotels in Istanbul, I definetely recommend.

Room Tip: I would suggest an upper floor room.

My son organized a short trip to Istanbul. The only request I had was to find a small hotel in the middle of the most important historic area... and he found Zynep! What could be more enjoyable than drinking your morning coffee with your eyes on St Sofia....

Very clean, very nice people, enough breakfast, and relatively cheap -what else could you want?

If you go there, you should ask (nicely) the owner to show you the history beneath the hotel...you will have a nice surprise...

Dan Chicu

Room Tip: We stayed at the first floor - nice rooms.
