Berkan and his friendly staff welcome you like you are at home.
The food is so excellent we decided to come back in the same weekend.
The owner appreciates quality himself and he does not make compromises for his guests. There fir the grilled fish and traditional lamb dishes taste and look better than elsewhere in Sultanahmet. Big compliment for the chef.
We will sure come back to enjoy the excellent food, lovely company and pleasant sea breeze next time we visit Istanbul.

I would like to be able to write a wholeheartedly positive review here, but I cannot. My wife and I had checked the place out at lunchtime, and decided to return early that evening, as the menu and wine list looked very good. We were just about the only people in the small restaurant when we arrived just after 6pm, and chose an inside table with a view of the Bosporus. The kitchen was certainly on form, and we can recommend the food without reservation, but other issues dampened our enthusiasm. The first issue was their wine stocks. Their list is very wide ranging, but on the evening we dined, they had only one white and two reds to offer-apparently their wholesaler had not delivered as expected. The red we chose was actually very good. Then, at the end of the meal, we were told that, for reasons not well explained, they could not take credit cards! The meal was not very expensive, but we had to find the equivalent of about A$100 in local cash, something we had not expected-and this cleaned us out. I am sure these issues were temporary, but not what you would expect of a serious restaurant.

The Cheers Soul Kitchen is staffed by very friendly guys and the food is very good and very nicely presented. I enjoyed the staff very much as they would sit down with you and share stories etc. A nice relaxing spot in the middle of the busy Sultanhament area of Istanbul.

A great gem hidden away close to the old city centre. On the outside it looks like a hostel (which is situated in the same building) but once inside it is a proper restaurant with two great spacious outside balconies for dining. The owner is a modern young Turk who speaks fluent English and truly goes out of his way to make all his guests feel at home. Probably the best restaurant host/server I've ever met.

At first glance the menu looks similar to all the menu's in Istanbul but in reality it is far from standard. All the dishes are made with a unique twist and all taste amazing.

The atmosphere, the service, the food and wine together made this a perfect dining experience for us. We greatly recommend visiting Cheers Soul Kitchen even if it means going out of your way to get there.

We ate at this restaurant as it was close to our hotel and we weren't disappointed! It's set away from the main tourist streets, on a pretty cobbled street, nestled amongst little guesthouses. We sat on the balcony area and although it was raining, the atmosphere was wonderful - great music and blankets supplied if you're cold. The food was beautifully presented and extremely tasty - probably the nicest meal we had in Istanbul. The price was very reasonable too. Would highly recommend.
