Service was great - the owner was extremely friendly.

The food was great - starters and mains were both good, we focused on the kebabs. The meze selection was fantastic, a cornucopia of different tastes and textures.

Either eat inside or if you smoke then you can sit outside on the terrace and get an even better view of the sea.

Thank Nigel A

Located near our hotel, from the outside the restaurant looks clean and tidy. On the inside very friendly staff, great food, nice relaxing music. Very good money value.

We found this restaurant by accident for lunch. It was very nice, the food, the view, the atmosphere. We liked so much that we went for dinner. Very friendly host that made us feel welcome!

Good break from the normal hustle around Sultanahmet and the tourist areas. Very nice staff who are great at making you feel at home. Food was good, not amazing, but the price is right.

In spring of 2014, there is major construction going on that blocks their view of the water. You won't notice if you go at night, but during the day it isn't very nice to look at. Once finished, their view should be great, but otherwise I would recommend going at night.

We visited this restaurant on the back of reviews from others on Trip Advisor. Ranked #5 in Istanbul, which has over 3,000 restaurants, it promised to be excellent.

The restaurant is nice. Small and cozy with comfortable seating and [although it was dark and cold outside when we visited] a terrace with a good view over the Golden Horn.

The menu is extensive and has a wide range of starters, meat and fish dishes. The food itself however is very average and nowhere near our expectations, having read the rave reviews from others. This is okay, because Sultanahmet is an area full of very average and over-priced restaurants and this one offers very average food at a reasonably low price. In terms of value for money, we cannot complain,

We skipped starters and ordered the Chicken Testi Kebab and Seafood Casserole. Both were generous in portion size however were tongue-burningly hot (worryingly... the kind of hot that is normally only achieved with the aid of a microwave). The flavour was pleasant enough but rather bland and the quality was poor. The chicken was tough and the fish
overdone. The prawns appeared to be of the packet/frozen variety. Moreover, the seafood casserole did not contain the mussels and calimari that were promised on the menu. For desert, we shared the chocolate souffle. Now, this was a very, very tasty chocolate bombe cake and we enjoyed it a lot. It is not however a souffle so it is rather misrepresented on the menu.

Service friendly if a touch inefficient. It is tough to get a waiter's attention and our plates were left in front of us for a very long time after we finished our meal. It was also a little annoying that cards are not accepted, as we had to pop out to use a cash-point in order to settle our bill.

Overall, the restaurant is not bad. Much better than the average in the Sutlanahmet area and one which we would probably return to and recommend to others. It is, however, a place which serves very ordinary food with not-so-great service. Because of this, we are at a total loss as to how it is rated so highly.
