“Fun and Funky”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2014

Located on a semi quiet street off of Istiklal, the hotel is well designed and clean. The rooms have semi industrial look that works well in the building. Additionally, the rooms are super clean and cleaned daily, which isn't always a given in Istanbul. The owner even asked me if all was well and if there was anything else he could do for me.

The very first impression was bad. Immediately after arriving at the airport I was informed by my bank that my card is probably misused. The owner of the hotel assumed that there is "no show" because we didn't arrived at 6:00 p.m. but 1 hour later. That's why he tried to use my card for the cost of whole stay. Due to the limit, this was not possible , so he cashed more than 15% of the total value , even before we got to the hotel . When we arrived and clarify the matter proceeds canceled . During check-in process they wanted to copy our documents. The room was small, dirty, the bed was despite the wishes of the twin room, it was small double bed. The bathroom was dirty. According the description that room has a balcony our room did not has. There was a window that was facing the entrance to the building next door. Not at all soundproof room: we heard all sounds from the outside. Air conditioning also did not work 100% . Director respond to our complaints with total ignorance. After the third night we were moved to a room on the third floor. Same: small, dirty, small double bed, but with balcony. Also in this room, we heard the sounds of all : snoring in the next room ( all night ) , playing the piano and screaming in another room at 23:00 p.m.! Breakfast was catastrophic. No choice : two types of cheese, salami which at first glance was not edible, two types of jams, and dry bread. Coffee and tea were also undrinkable. Cleanliness of containers, plates and cutlery was disgusting. Wi- fi works intermittently and is practically useless.

Room Tip: Definitely choose other hotel

Let me explain you what really happened our hotel:

Our guest was late to check-in to the hotel so by 17.00 p.m, I have asked my reception to take a provision for his card since he was late to check in and no notes for what time he will be arriving. Taking provisions out the cards that are provided is our right as explained at the reservation as well as our agreement with booking.com. The cards was only charged %15 of the reservation since we thought he might use it for duty free when he arrives at Istanbul. The card worked and we kept the reservation. Our guest has arrived our hotel on 11-04 at 19.00 p.m. Our guest and his mother arrived at the hotel and accused my staff of using his card unauthorized. I have explained his the procedure and cancelled the provision. He claimed that his banked called him and he had to talk over the phone for 5 minutes and it cost him 15 euros and he asked me to pay for it, which I refused to do since I did not do anything wrong. We then asked him for a copy of his passport, he refused to give a copy and asked us to just take the information down. At this point we wanted make him happy and made an exception and accept to check him with no copy of his passport. He also asked us for a twin bed. As you might see his reservation is for a standard room which clearly states that the room has a double bed. We asked him if he wanted to be upgraded to a superior room with a minimal cost of 5 Euros per day. He refused to pay and thread us with a bad review. We refused to give the room for free and here we are with the review he said he will do. We also changed our guests room which he never mentioned. He also took pictures of our kitchen at midnight when the kitchen was close. He was clearly had a bed intention and wanted to take revenge out of our establishment.

.The credential of the rest of the review is up to the judgement of the reader after the real story that I have explained in details.

Me and my staff did their best so our guest and his mother had a pleasant stay at our city and my hotel. The day of his check-out he cursed out to me and my staff and threw the public transportation card that to the reception desk and left

I work very hard to keep a good reputation for my Brand, therefore we go to the extra-mile to make our guests happy but we will not tolarate guests requests that are out of our policies even though it will cost us getting faulty reviews such as this one.

Great design and everything is easily accessible. Yet, given its central location, it is very noisy at nights, making sleep impossible. Not just the bars and clubs, the problem comes from the reception as well, which seemed to receive many calls at night.

very welcoming, generous. one of those mini-hotels that u don't find much lik'em around where the owners and ppl working make u u feel like a star! i thought i was the only star in that hotel, until i noticed that every customer felt like a star, we ended up living in Hollywood, but a turkish cozy one. excellent experience, will definitely do it over and over again and advise to it. the rooms are spacious enough, tidy clean, bed comfy, very friendly staff and the food... OMG!!! the food!!! couldn't get enough! definitely a 10 out of 10 for that. thumbs-up

Perfect location: 150m from İstiklal street, 500m from Taksim square and metro station "Taksim". Always in the center of night life. Good staff. Clean, comfortable, noise-isolated, modern rooms. In my room repair is not completed yet (plinth fell off). Brekfast is very simple and
unchangeable. Fast free WIFI. Don't forget about taking ''Istambul transport card'' at the reception.
