Our first trip to Istanbul and we chose the Best Western Empire Palace hotel based on tripadvisor reviews. I can tell you that we found the staff, the rooms, the location, etc. To be outstanding in all ways!guest relation manager NEDA was EXCELLENT,we read too much about her on Trip Advoisor and Booking but meet her face to face is something else different!!!
We have stayed in many luxurious hotels and I can tell you that we felt that the stay at this Hotel rivaled any of the other hotels. It is not as luxurious as the others but it exceeded ALL expectations! If we every get back to Istanbul, there is no question that the Empire Palace will be our choice of the place to stay not only because of its quality but also to see Neda again!!!

The locations for tourists is great. Topkapi, Grand Bazaar... 5 mn away. The tramway is 1 mn away and let you go see the rest of the city.
Very cheerful service. Available for informations and help.
Rooms are correct. Bathrooms could be a bit nicer. Wifi works time to time. Little noise with the railway until 11pm.
Very good place for a visiting wk

Emailed the hotel a week before we travelled to request a high floor and a quiet room, did not receive either or a reply. Was informed by travel company that they had closed the rooftop breakfast area, which was one of the reasons we had chosen the hotel what a disappointment.
However the hotel is central for all the attractions, but being on the tramlines our room at the front of the hotel was noisy. The room was cleaned to a high standard, beds were comfy, bathroom could have been better, hole in the ceiling, hair dryer hanging of the wall. Overall ok for the three nights we stayed, but not much around the hotel at nighttime,so would think about another area if I visited again.

We stayed here 3 nights, my daughter and me. We found out that we were in the middle of everything, in the very heart of the old city. The rooms were fine, maybe not enough storage space for the longer stays, but very nice bedding and very clean indeed. They even propose the choice between a high number of pillow types, 4 of which were available directly in the room at our arrival and the other on request.

The people at the desk were very helpful, especially Yildirim in our case. Thank you!

You have a nice restaurant next door (Déjà Vu) and a touring agency 10 meters further for all types of organized leisure tours or airport transfers.

Expectation is key here. What do you expect for the price ?

The hotel is reasonably inexpensive. And without doubt what it has in its favour is location. which is truly great. But given the hotel asks for guests to leave feedback on Tripadvisor I ask myself what does it do that impresses ? What makes the stay stand out ?

Guest relations Neda is great. Charming and eager to help. The location is superb. The rooms are clean and well presented. But these are expected. In terms of the negatives
- Outlook is poor.
- Nothing seems to work properly. The bath does not drain. The door lock needs reception to intervene every time
- the rooms are super compact and no chest of drawers to unpack clothes into
- The breakfast is well below par. Orange squash, toxic coffee and canned music
- Sound proofing is bad - so noise travels between rooms
- There are no common areas to relax in
- The quality of staff outside Neda is variable. For instance "table for four" at breakfast could not be understood (yes I know I should speak Turkish)

Nothing terminal. Location still great. Hotel clean and tidy. So if the rate is super cheap - then take it. But if you pay decent money - then I would expect lots more

Room Tip: ask for one with a view out onto the main street

We recently visited Istanbul as tourists. The location of this hotel is what made it so great. We were able to walk to see all of the sights, and the hotel is directly on the tram line which made navigating the city much easier! Aside from location, the breakfast each morning was nice; there were a lot of options. Our room was clean, although, admittedly, we did not spend much time in the room. Staff at the front desk were helpful, though at times we found the language differences to be somewhat challenging (not their fault in any sense as we were the foreigners). WiFi worked well, which was helpful. Overall, it was a very nice hotel for us - I'm glad we picked it!

Due to overbooking at the Best Western Amber in Istanbul we were taken to this hotel. We were very pleased with the change of accommodation and would be happy to book direct with them in future. It is very close to all of the major attractions and added to our enjoyment and love of this wonderful city. The staff at this hotel, without exception, were extremely helpful but a special mention must be made of Begum, the delightful young woman who helped us add to our Turkish vocabulary!
